Now you wealthy americans, tell me about any experiences you've had with those Asus mini laptops. We just recently got the 4G model here and no sign of the 900-series, which I'm eager to get myself. I figured I could order one from abroad with Windows system, but how are you experiences, is that thing reliable enough to be imported in gray manner thus voiding the warranty?
Other option is to wait until they reach this last fortress of socialist regime in europe, which could take months, months and months, and I'm rather too impatient for that option. |

Lol I don't think wealthy Americans would purchase Asus, which is regarded as a low budget low quality computer.
They're more likely to buy from boutique companies. Voodoo, Falcon Northwest, Alienware, Puget, Vigor, etc. And the occasional Dell or HP... |

That's just it, it's cheap and rugged juding by the memory solution instead of traditional hard-drive which is always a concern with regular laptops. Asus is small enough to be actually carried around for note taking, running mathcad etc. in studies, I first though about buyin that carbon fiber-bodied sony vaio with 11.1 inch screen, but for 2nd laptop solely for note taking and simple calculations the 1500€ pricetag is just terrible.
I know, it would be wiser to use good old paper notebooks and TI-89, but I just love high-tech even if it hinders practicality a bit :D |
