Two very special people turned out to be ENFPs which I found quite satisfying.
This idea that an ENFP can make me act more human and expressive of my emotions is amazing but in the back of my mind, I am hesitant about having a deeper relationship with an ENFP. When it comes to calling services, paying for bills and finishing small tasks, I have no willpower. I am not certain whether I trust the ENFP to remind me, or even be aware of such things to exist. In terms of compatibility, I can't go wrong with an ENFP but in practicality, doesn't seem very viable. |

I haven't known too many of either type, but ESFPs usually strike me as being much more interesting. My guess is that it's related largely to how different they can be from me, in nearly every aspect of their character more so than any inherent qualities about either type of person-- if I weren't an INTJ, ESFPs probably wouldn't seem so fascinating to me.
Of course, there's a line somewhere between "interestingly different" and "incompatible in real life circumstances." But I haven't seen any major influence on the odds of difference turning into incompatibility based solely off of a one-letter difference in type. |

ENFPs, at least one on one. They tend to have that narcissism we INTJs sometimes have, but if you're not totally boring them they'll listen.

I never met an ESFP that I got along with swimmingly. ENFPs on the other hand I do very well with. They're balls of fun, but not the "norm" fun. Which I think marks the difference. I'm sure there are ESFPs out there that do deviate from social norms, but for the most part they don't. Instead they go along for the ride (like the partying) more so then an ENFP would.
ENFPs for the win. (And that is stereotypical as I'll get today) |

The last ESFP I dated was sensory overload: party, party, party. While I understand it's important not to rule out anyone due to their MBTI type, this is a good general rule for me. If I had to choose, I think I'd have better odds with the ENFP. The intuitive common thread makes for better discussions.

ENFPs all the way. I have not met an ESFP so far that understands me or interests me, and although, as has been previously said, choosing partners based on MBTI is illogical, all ENFPs I've met so far (just 3, to my sorrow) have clicked with me marvelously well. Most ESFPs just hate me.
That being said, I'd rather go with a social and outgoing INFP than an ENFP. Being introverted/ambiverted makes it easier to handle a highly introverted person such as myself. An ambivert could both be extroverted when required (as in, dragging my ass to social events) and introverted when required (one on one situation, understanding and respecting the need to be alone, etc). |

ENFPs, always. Nothing against ESFPs, but I don't give a rat's ass about fashion or partying or who that famous actor is dating now or if so-and-so put on twenty pounds over the summer (all the ESFPs I've met are like that). Plus, I have never met an ESFP who didn't just tolerate but enjoyed my company and strange sense of humor.
On the other hand, I've never known an ENFP I didn't like, and they tend to be more friendly with me than most other people. Plus, their bubbly, quirky happiness is contagious. |

Not illogical. Huh. Try pairing an INTP with some SJ - the odds of that "working" are pretty much into lotto territory. |

I can't stand either. Too unpredictable, spontaneous, and shallow. A bit of spontaneity, I enjoy, but nowhere near the amount of it that ExFP's do. My experience with them, especially ESFPs, has shown me that they are generally quite hypocritical and very willing to act on random whims (regardless of how utterly idiotic they are). If I had to choose the lesser of two evils, however, I'd choose the ENFP. I couldn't even conceive of a relationship with any of the female ESFP's I know in real life.

ENFP hands down. They're about 8 billion times more interesting.

I'd probably be more attracted to an ENFP guy than an ESFP, in that, if I had to be with a "P" (*shudder*...I've got enough "P" within myself), I'd prefer he be intuitive.
ENFPs are interesting conversationalists in my experience, and that's important to me. I haven't met many ESFPs of either gender, though, so I could be wrong about them. The one probable ESFP man I dated was a total nightmare, though.... |

Whoah, whoah, whoah.......hold on there. As someone who is Oxford and public ivy educated please be careful calling ENFPs shallow. Thank you. Just take it easy. |

I can only have relationships with INTXs and ISTPs, but if I were forced to, I would most probably choose ENFPs over ESFPs, and the reason is simply because I feel ESFPs are too much involved in life while ENFPs are able to look outside the box.

Well, although most ESFPs hate me, I've met one with whom I shared a slight reciprocal "like", and I've gotten along swellingly with types such as ESFJs, ISTJs, and other Ss, given that they were all type mature. |

To generalize:
ENFP's. They're just... amazing. I would go one but I might start gushing and then I'd have to shoot myself. Though I admire, and am sometimes left in awe of, our differences I just don't understand ESFP's. Communication with them does not work properly so I just admire their shininess from afar. |

But dear Philantropist that's what is all magic about. There so different from you. That's why they are so... interesting.

argh, they're both so tiring... i could handle their introverted counterparts with much less strain. having said that, the NFs i know tend to just expect you to know how they feel, while the SFs i know make their feelings pretty apparent, so i'd have to say SF. it's so god damn tiring trying to figure out how someone feels all the time.

I'm pretty sure I'm an enfp an I can be pretty calculating when it comes to my emotions which fits with the intuitive feeling thang going on. "we only let on the emotions we want you to see."

I have no idea, personally. I'd have to meet several ENFP women who are interested in dating me, and several ESFP women who are interested in dating me, to decide.
