I'm ignorant, possible, on this, so if there is a book that came out before the film with Nicholson and the others, I'd say "Not fantasy"; if, however, someone made a so-called prequel or something related but not specially along the same lines, I've no clue. I don't read much fiction any longer, so I'm out of the loop on male vs female protagonists, and also within particular genres.

You got the connection. And I looked; your type ends in P. There's hope for me yet--in the area of "clarity." \ (◡) /

Yes, yes, I know. I thought I'd match the melodrama. Seriously, these baby boomers are in a frenzy lately.

We agree on most things. Trump is neither an idiot nor a madman. He still shuld never be president.

Not so weird. I told you once that we agree on most things.

Think of a pie. Cut out a slice, perhaps one-twentieth of the pie. We agree on almost everything that remains.

The small slice is half of what Johnson referred to when he said "I want the government to stay out of my bedroom and out of my wallet." You favor more authority for government, and conveniently the Democrats are the party of government. I favor drastically less authority for government, hence have a problem with Democrats. However, if Trump and Clinton were the only choices this year, I'd vote for Clinton.

We both support civil rights, LGBT rights, rights of the disabled, immigrant rights and the list goes on. In that arena we disagree on little. I oppose all forms of racial discrimination, you support racial discrimination to compensate for past injury. I oppose the exidstence of hate speech and hate crime laws because they criminalize thought. I'm not sure of your position on either, which means you're likely not a vocal supporter of either. I respect those who do support either set of laws, and there is a logical way to reach supporting them.

One could say the same about the Democrats. I hate having to vote for Hillary, but the other candidate is a far worse alternative.

+1 for the Third Period reference. One I often use myself. I will reply to the rest when I have time.

The funny part will also be those of an actual ethnic group going to bat for white culture's "right" to appropriate what they choose. It's becomes an even bigger hypocrisy as the thread goes on.

It didn't bother to make a serious comment for the very reason Katwalker said. I think I've learned my lesson in that regard. They're more interested in being right then being informed.

Ahh...I thought you may be of Scottish descent. In any case, if you're American your knowledge of Britain is impressive, most here have next to no knowledge of the world beyond their borders, I have found.

So, I've been wanting to ask: How come you know so much about, and have such an interest in, British politics?
