    Not really. Your arguments moved me no more than Certain's. He/she offered a graph, and you countered that his/her graph disagreed with your standards. You yourself brought up the issue that without standards that we agree upon, every discussion will eventually devolve into an argument about semantics and definitions. And it cuts both ways. That was the only point I was trying to make.

    It's fine. I viewed my remark as substantive, even if brief (and dickish), because I believed it germane to the discussion. Anyway, it seems that most of the contention in discussions, particularly political ones, is about definitions and premises. It's no wonder nothing is ever solved.
