    Hi, darynthe

Sorry for my (very!) late response, I wasn't much on the forum lately.

As for why I chose Aleph, though I read the Borges short story (and Borges is high in my favorite author list), it's simply because it is the first letter of the Hebraic alphabet - and also because, at the same time, it is the letter used to denote transfinite numbers.

I must say your name is very intriguing to me. Where does darynthe come from?

    Best regards,

    Aleph

Oh, I'm sorry. I completely misunderstood, and it really set me back. Please forgive me for being a jerk.

I understand. Cognitive dissonance can be painful, and often causes sufferes to feel jealousy, even hatred, of those they envy.

How are you? I'm pretty new here. I thought I might be able to find some interesting people who think more like me to gain some insight into myself and maybe to learn something from them. What brought you here? You're INFJ? I haven't read up on that one.

Such studies are problematical in a scientific environment which depends of funding by such communities that are, in aggregate 'goats'.

The broad umbrella is Psi. Those scientists in Consciousness Research might also have work that you are interested in. The U of Colorado, which I posted about a while back is the only formal program of it's type that I'm aware of.

Another approach (not a study) is the work of The Monroe Institute who sell binaural beat recordings and teach, among other things, how to got out of body.

I'm not an Objectivist either, as she defines it . . . however, I really agree with her portrayal of capitalism and socialism. It just seems like she doesn't take into account the fact that private charities function better than state welfare. Anyway, I've just started the third part of Atlas Shrugged; it feels like I've read five books already.

So, are you an Objectivist, then?

We cosleep. He started out in a thing called a snugglenest (it's really just a thing you stick in your bed to give the newborn a place of his/her own), and then he just snuggled with us once he outgrew that. By then, we were used to cosleeping and weren't afraid we smush him. He's about 10.5 months now and we still cosleep. This way, we all get the most sleep possible.

It doesn't work for everyone, but it works for us. It's just funny though, because I had planned that he'd sleep in his room and all that. But, once he was here, keeping him with us seemed natural and normal, so we did.

Target? Ha. Personal attacks? Where? My posts contributed to the topic - yours actually didn't, if you re-read it.

The problem with using extracted substances vs. the foods themsevles is often it turns out it isn't just one substance (like the mannose) but a combination that provides the benefit.

Yeah, pure cranberry juice is something you have to choke down fast and follow with a chaser of water, but you get used to it after a while.

You must not have IC though, because if you did drinking something that acid would sent you into a tailspin.

IC = Interstitial cystitis. It's a condition where your bladder is easily irritated by many things and it's about like having constant UTIs.

Do you drink straight cranberry juice (all juice, no sugar) by any chance? Does that help, if you do? I know that won't have any adverse effect on a pregnancy. That's usually where I start if I get a client with UTIs.

Was there any particular reason you wanted to take d-mannose? I don't know of any downside to it and can't find any references.

Do you have IC by any chance?

Oh, I'm still in Ohio. I recently purchased a new car, and am trying to work my way back into a better economic position. Still single, but with the selection I have here, I'm better off that way.
