You seem reasonable, you have a degree in biology, and you have a cute cat for a profile picture...

    You're okay, guy.

I've found that ignoring him results in significantly less irritation.

I'd like to do some research into the most up-to-date investigations into abiogenesis. Where should I start. I've looked at the wikipedia article.

I've resorted to the quick retort from time to time. I do like to make reasoned arguments, and even though Vogon may not treat them with the respect they deserve, I know others may look into the information I'm providing.

He is a poor example of what an ideal Christian should be like, IMHO. I think he probably drives a lot of people away from Christianity.

Have you noticed others are starting to point out his ridiculous games?

I know what you mean by arguing with a brick wall. I've watched just about every creationist or Id debate I could find, and it's a common tactic. I try to argue with him like I'm arguing for the benefit of others who are listening. I hate to just let him keep promoting his pro-creationist agenda unchallenged.

Some like Kisai and Holiman are good at hit-and-run tactics, and I'm slowly learning from them. I don't mind getting into lengthy debates, but I find I must concentrate on the core issues to prevent myself from getting sidetracked into red herrings.

So, what's up with Neanderthals these days? Do we have their DNA, or not? I was just made aware of how unintelligent they may have been. 200,000 years without any changes in their tools, wow. And they may not have even had a spoken language?

I wonder if you would be willing to point out the errors in Vogon's views on science from time to time. There is no need to be drawn into a long debate if you don't wish it.
I just hate to see him influence others with his drivel, outright misrepresentations and lies.

You could even contact me with the error and the resources, if you wish. I don't even have to mention you.

How are things going? Do you mind if I ask some questions related to evolution to quench my curiosity?
I should have been a scientist.

I know. I just don't want to let him get away with anything. And I think debate is useful for those who may be reading along.

In the first Guild Wars game, I learned to trade "zkeys" for "ectos", sell "ectos" for 4.5k each, buy more "zkeys" for 4k each, ect... In under 2 weeks, I earned enough money to buy FoW armour!
