woah 311 that's HEAVY!!! good for you you're married to a herbalist look into more chinese herbs...they are very good for diabetes...i had a professor who that was her specialty and she got really really good results...with them so that they could have their conventional ones with side effects reduced dosage...we tracked blood test results over time so yeah it was a definite correlation with the herbal treatment. just take them separate by a few hours with your pills if you are concerned re: interactions. food stuffs like goji berries etc...very safe...you can eat plenty...best way for digestibility soak a handful in your warm green tea daily or more and drink/eat that...good for your eyes too...anyway that's an awesome daily drink for your condition....cheers to good health!

the soup is easy just get some pork bones some sea salt some white pepper then you can add whatever else that is nice in soup like a handful of gojiberries some bittergourd slices some corn some carrots whatever...the stirfry just some onions marinated meat slices and the bittergourd cut into thin slices. really simple. it's really not as disgusting as Distance says!!! tastes like choko just bitter. Be sure to remove all the seeds and insides out. my mum soaks it i think in salt water to draw the bitter out but I don't find commercial ones very bitter. Ok so hungry now I better go cook me some FOOD, lol

gojiberries are the other one that come to mind...good for cholesterol blood pressure as well as blood sugar. I'm pretty sure I've seen really good blood result improvements from people drinking chinese herbal soups regularly in combination with proper diet and lifestyle...green tea is good for weight loss too.

start taking bittergourd regularly and that should help too...you can fry it off with some finely sliced meat and onions it's pretty yummy! food as medicine has been too overlooked by conventional modern medicine...probably cos of the convenience of instant pow wow pills and the money the drug companies make from them...but they usually create side effects...

that's so cool. I'd love to just follow her around and learn herbs...we kind of lost this kind of knowledge in the bustle of big city modern life. I know a bit about chinese herbs(albeit I've only seen the dried and prepared stuff :P) but I think the climate is too different where I am and hard to grow. I don't think I could be bothered setting up a basement or greenhouse operation.
