done a bit of reading about the big 5. not as well read up on it as keirsey or merys-briggs though. but yea, even within mbti and keirsey these folks round here display some poorly developed tertiary and inferior functions, which are like you say, a sign of an immature and poorly developed personality.

not that im perfect by any means, but damn, seems some people here cling a little too much to what they're good at and neglect those aspects of their personality that could use a bit of polishing.

heh, don't get me wrong, there are some things you gotta stand on principle for and refuse to compromise.

i just think that, like you said, egos the size of mountains, makes people think the number of things you can't compromise on is far larger than the number of things you can.

its amusing, most everyone on this forum would, if you asked em, tell you that there are very few absolutes in this world, that everything can be looked at from a different perspective... but when it comes time to debate, they start acting like everything they say is the word of god and can never be contested.

well, to be fair, there are a couple conservatives round here who shun liberals pretty hard too.

personally, i try to just shun the zealots on both sides. unfortunately there's like a 2:1 ratio of libs to conservatives i have ended up having to put on ignore because of their blind zealotry.

truth is, libs have some decent ideas, they just don't implement em all that well. the ones i ignore are the ones who refuse to admit conservatives have some good, but poorly implemented ideas and refuse to admit they've done a bad job at implementing their good ideas or that they have some bad ideas just like conservatives have some bad ideas.

thanks. sadly for me, a few folks aside, this is the most intellectual conversation i can usually get. my social circle is great, but not particularly deep thinkers, and for all the flaws of folks here, at least they put some thought into what they say.

Did you try the new chatroom? I was wondering if it worked better for you since you were one of the people who had so many problems with the last one.

If both of our post combined still doesn't reveal their glaring fallacy to themselves, then they are going to always remain in a bubble of thought, as stagnant individuals with nothing insightful to offer.

I thought it was a strange thing for someone to say, but now, of course, it makes sense. Thank you for letting me know; I appreciate it.

Was (not so) passive aggressive. No need to comment on my effort if you didn't intend it to have some sort of relevance to the discussion. OK MOST black metal isn't "super lo fi" whatever than means.

Thanks for the support, man. Can't say his words bothered me much, but it's still nice to see someone in your corner every now and then. Cheers
