I have sought out highly analytical jobs that I hoped would avoid triggering strong emotions. I also sought out bosses who seemed tolerant of disagreement and confrontation. The results have been mixed. In the future, the two criteria I'll look for in a work environment are coworkers I can trust, and safety, ie, bosses who don't abuse their power.

Beautiful book, it's about the starving unpublished author, always on the verge of mental collapse, but never quite exactly complaining, always optimistic, naive and full of humour.

    Beautifully written too.

Oh, OK. Knut Hamsun books still are a perfect gift suggestion then.

That list DEFINITELY applies to me. And I definitely think that we were born this way... otherwise, why would I fight things so strongly even after such influences were removed?

I can be seen as eccentric, especially once the conversation hits a topic which I know a lot about and about which I have a strong opinion. I try to steer clear of such topics until people know me better. I don't really know why I'm motivated to be an individual, its just such a part of me and always has been. I think a big motivator is competence. When I was little, my parents would say "because I said so" and I would always ask "why." By copying other people or following people who command you "because they said so", you are basically showing you cannot think yourself.. idk. You?

Well it looks like my function dominance is in a toss-up between INTJ & INTP. But if it came down to a tie-breaker I think I'm really a J.

How fascinating. I would almost assume one would use the T logic with engineering (which is maybe why it's been impossible for me to type my father-in-law, who is also an engineer.) Can you explain?

I've always scored relatively close with both S/N and T/F, but I don't relate to the INTJ description except in the professional world. I find often times when I take these tests it is hard to answer as want vs. need. I can see both sides of the coin, but my action is upon need (not want.) So then, how would one really answer the question? lol

Oh very interesting! How is it you cannot relate? I find myself 50/50, being able to almost fully relate to ISFJ and INFJ. There are some small parts to which I cannot relate on both sides; such as the INFJ being messy and the ISFJ not being able to handle criticism.
