I doubt SP is a good representation, and unfortunately my schedules didnt allow time to see other places...always wanted to visit Bahia (in fact had planned to study there for a semester when I was in university, but met the woman who's now my wife, so the priorities shifted I can say that having known Brazilians for years they're essentially warmharted, hospitable, and genuine .

I did some consulting work in SP, so learned enough Portuguese to get along. My Spanish knowledge was a considerable help.
