Ugh. I go through something you just described often with my INTP. It's like "I don't understand the logic behind your emotions, but OMG! My emotions! GASLIGHT!!!!!!!!" Lol
I've contended that PUAs misunderstand the principles behind why some of the things they do seem to "work" for a while, and this is one of the reasons. I know women who have more or less admitted to going for PUA types precisely because their emotional immaturity and transparent goals make them non-threatening partners for flings and rebounds.
A-freaking-men to that! I think guys are confused by emotions. They think in forumlas and rhythms. There is no way to make a girl like you, and there is no formula as to why she doesn't. It's either there or it's not. How it comes to be is even more complex and erratic. They don't seem to get that.
