I agree that you were not out of line given the context.
But your tone was uniformly confrontational; perhaps this is because you are new to the Forum, and I can understand that. But I watched polymath20 switch from "discussion mode" to "placation mode" in a vain search for something with which you would express agreement. He gave you more opportunities than most, and finally left the conversation when it was clear you wanted to argue, and would not settle for anything else.
You are obviously intelligent and articulate; your ideas merit consideration. But if you *never* demonstrate tractability, people will conclude, perhaps rightly, that you are not interested in an *exchange* of ideas... speaking AND listening... and they will shut you off. And that would be a loss for everyone.
In the meantime, let's be friends. I want to learn what you know, because I want to have a better understanding of what it means to be black in 2012 America, for the benefit of those I serve. I'm just an old white guy, born in Texas, who never had much interaction outside my own ethnicity until I was in my 30's. I've got to make up for lost time.
I can hear your anger, but I can't make sense out of anything else you are saying. If you answer every question with a rant, people will stop asking... and you will LOSE the opportunity to state your case.
