I basically feel in pictures and when I see something in pictures, it evokes all sorts of emotions all at one go. The same goes to music. So you can say that anime and manga work this way on me. Animation => emotion. Manga art => emotion. Lol!

I feel that the expression of the Japanese language can be so beautiful yet simple. Consider this situation person A likes person B and wants to do a confession, person A can say:

"Suki desu. Tsukiatte kudasai" (loosely translated as I like you, please go out with me)

And it's understood. It's so easy to just understand. Ohh, the expression of the language in poems - OMG! I get blown away when I hear them~

And don't you think there is appreciation for transience in the Japanese culture? Think sakura - so beautiful yet such a short existence. That's really beautiful, to me. Probably the few things that can really move me besides teddy bears and adorable pets.

How did you get into anime and manga?

Why I like anime and manga? I think, it's more accurate to say that I like Japan. Lol! Was into anime and manga as a kid and then moved on during my teens but got back into it in my early 20s. I'm also into their drama series and music - you need to see my DVD collection. Lol!

Anime
- I like the animation styles and the art
- I like the music they choose, they usually match my taste
- I like the vocal expressions of the seiyu & the language itself (I study Japanese)
- I like the message they try to pass on

Manga
- I like the art
- I like the message they try to pass on
- Some of the really interesting ones don't get animated

I like Shikamaru & Itachi too! In fact, I like a long list of characters in Naruto and One Piece and Fairy Tail! Hot!!

Katekyo, I haven't watched but my friend and my brother like it. I think I watched a bit of it with my brother.

I thought Another was pretty interesting - I like horror anime as well especially those like Monster and Mouryou no Hako. And with psychological stuff The author for Mouryou no Hako is pretty cool. I like his work but unfortunately only the first novel has been translated and made into a movie so far (The Summer of the Ubume) and the third novel is Mouryou no Hako - it's an anime. The second novel which I hope I can start reading by end of this year (if my Kanji improves) can be loosely translated as Dreams of the Skeleton.

Last season's anime list were pretty cool. I like Rinne no Lagrange, Another and Last Exile: Fam (steampunk fan here). Oh I haven't finished Moretsu Pirates yet.
