Yeah I think the INTP and ENFJ pairing works well, and I almsot hate to say it, is because ENFJs tend to naturally 'mother' and take care of their partner and really enjoy it. And INTPs, as independent as they like to think of themselves, I find fundamentally are not as independent as they really think they are as they are often well, kind of disorganized and yet demanding.

I agree, random connections are not only easy, but fun. What gets me about Ni descriptions though is that the ability to read hidden motives and predict future patterns are usually Ni attributes. That is an essential part of how my mind works, only it's entirely sub/unconscious -- unlike the actively seeking out new ideas that I consciously do with my Ne.

Moxiie, a question for you. How did you rule out Ni usage? How did you decide that your primary function is Ne, and that you don't have Ni?
