In prime condition, it's capable of
sub 1 moa at 100m - they are
fantastically accurate rifles. If it's a run-of-the-mill used milsurp piece, I'd still say you could do 2 moa, maybe better. I've shot them before cold, and been very impressed with my groups. Pretty sure I did around 2.5 moa from bench with open sights the first time I ever shot one, and it was a beater. Convinced I could've grouped much better if I spent time on it. Hardy too - they'll go through a war and still function excellently (oh wait...they did).
Downside is it's really heavy, loud, and the damn thing kicks like nothing I've ever shot before. It
will beat your shoulder up, but there are ways to work around that, of course.
If you're getting a legit price on one (what do they run...$200-$300?), it's certainly a great addition to your armory. As you mentioned, just take a bore-light to it before purchase. Sniper rifle fo sho.
Everyone acts like a rifle is useless if it can't do 1 moa, but we're not talking about rifle competitions here, and if you can even shoot 3 moa with something consistently, you're gonna take heads off.
