That's a very interesting quote, and that's something I've thought about a lot before. Though I don't believe in the existance of ~1 magical soulmate~, I do believe that there's a certain number of men out there I could actually end up being very happy with, but the problem is indeed finding each other.

About fate ... as an agnostic, I generally try to make no 100% certain statements about anything metaphysical, but I'm pretty sure I don't believe in fate, at least not in the common sense. The reason for that is that I do believe in free will, and that kind of contradicts a predetermined fate.
That doesn't mean that I think everything that ever happens is 100% random. It's all so complex and at the end of the day, we know literally -nothing- about all of it.

Are you familiar with the concept of Serendipity? That's something that fascinates me, especially in the context of "soul mates", and fate.
