I guess I am a bit old fashioned and I was raised to believe in the traditional "boy asks girl". :/ He is currently getting his degree in radiology and says he feels he can't properly focus on a relationship at the moment. But he also told me I am the only girl he feels a connection with, he feels accepted and comfortable with me and he would like to change our friendship status at some point. He "could totally get used to the idea of loving someone like me forever". I feel rather humbled, I don't feel I have really done anything worthy of his opinion of me. He does not say things like that easily or lightly, coming from a guy who was unable to say "you are a good friend", it carries weight, lol. We are still very close and the more I learn to know him the more I admire and trust him.
This forum really helped me understand his rationale and feel more confident in my position with him when he unknowingly leaves me a bit uncertain at times.

or find friends with the same issue. Im pretty introverted around acquantences, like in high school, but as long as i have at least one friend with me, im pretty much extroverted everywhere. social anxiety isnt as permanent and unbeatable as it seems

nah i dont believe in headaches (...lol). ive got on and off social anxiety so i figured i could relate. its always nice to know that theres people like with the same issues and im not some kind of freak. if you change your mind lemmie know bro i wanna see what you posted haha

Very well made and I hadn't thought about it in terms of politics. I personally would rather things be akin to what you have described where the public OBSERVE their debate process and by seeing their general viewpoint and various arguments amongst themselves we decide on who we think should run the country. Very interesting.
