    I strongly relate to your first three paragraphs here and have OCD myself. I also think the games aren't as imaginative as they used to be. I generally finish about 5% of the games I play now as opposed to 95% when I was younger. I think part of the reason is I spend more time trying to accumulate/dabble and/or tweak (the) game(s)/emulator/graphics, as opposed to spending time getting immersed in one game.

    I know *exactly* what you are talking about. But I can't explain it; its an avoidance behavior that resists the "pain of engagement" for some reason...
