Hey, I just downloaded and installed a Firefox add-on (Best Video Downloader) that allows me to save/convert-save Youtube videos to my local drive. I would like to convert some of these to the best sound quality allowable. If my DL options are: MP4 360p, FLV 360p, MP3 (128K), and M4A, which format would be the best for conversion to the highest quality sound? Thanks...

I've already tried Any Audio Converter, but no go. I'll give jDownloader a try. Thanks!

Hey, it's been awhile since I've pestered you with an audio question, but now I've got another issue. Any idea how I could convert flv to mp3? In other words, any recommended software programs (hopefully free)?
-
Hey, Any ideas how I would convert .AVI to mp3? Foobar2000 doesn't seem to do it...
-
I'm using mp3tag now. There's an option to write APEv2. I clear the checkbox for this one, correct?
-
For FLAC, I selected AC3 (Passthru) and the output was .ac3 files...

Yeah, my mp3 player software (SonicStage) scolded me for the 48 kHz files, didn't give me any problems on the 44.1 kHz files. You've been a great help. Thank you so much. Don't think I could have done it without you. Now I have to label the files (artist, album title, song title, etc.). Any suggested tools for doing that?
Also, I am going to attempt to squeeze FLACs out of the MKV files (or AAC files). Any ideas as to how I might go about this?
-
I should probably manually set it to 44.1 kHz then. Ultimately I would like to listen to this stuff on my mp3 player.
-
I noticed that the audio sample rate (48 kHz) is slightly different from the audio sample rate (44 kHz) of MP3s I have downloaded. Should that be a concern?
-
The files look a bit larger than 'normal' 320 Kbps files.
-
I was able to get it to work for the most part, but I am still not understanding why I'm getting 782 Kbps files rather than 320 Kbps. Have you encountered this?
-
Well, I muddled through some test files. Was able to convert to MKV and then from MKV to mp3. Interesting thing of note was that although I set the bitrate to 320 Kbs, I got almost twice that on playback. Not that I'm complaining because I like high quality. But it is weird that the software "violated" the setting.
Anamorphic to none. Tried that, worked...

Are you talking about the Picture tab with regards to decreasing resolution? Mine is all greyed out...
-
I did set the video settings to the lowest quality (using the slider--all the way to the left). I didn't set any other video-related configurations. The video is a 2-hour concert, and it took a little over an hour to process. My computer is old and slow (2793 GHz), so it may take a while longer. I do not know if 1 hour is unreasonable or not.
Am I supposed to end up with 1 MKV file at this point, or am I supposed to use Handbrake to separate it all out via chapters?
-
BTW, I used Handbrake and I ended up with a huge mkv file (am I doing this right?). There were several chapters (22) on the original DVD, so am I supposed to end up with 1 mkv file or 22 separate mkv files?
-
I have MKVExtractGUI and mkvcleaver (separate programs). How do I use them to get at the audio? Do I need to make any special settings?
-
Thanks. So I set Mixdown to Stereo/Sample Rate to Auto then?
-
Hey, thanks for responding to my inquiry on converting VOB to FLAC. Any idea what I would set for options on the Audio tab? I did a search online for tutorials that would help me, but it seems that there are not too many people who use Handbrake to do this sort of thing. Thanks...

Hi, sorry I had to leave chat. Hope to see you later.:-)

What ideas does it explore, more concretely, what are the mindsets of the central characters; also, what are they trying to fulfill with their actions? Excuse the inquisitiveness.
