Yes, prior. As an unhappy camper, he snipes people he dislikes. I can only guess where it sources from, probably perspective of how the social construct genders should 'act'.
That is fine, then really you could fit into 2 camera categories. I will just say let's look at enthusiast level then, since it is quite the investment you don't want to make it more than once.
There are 2 predominant companies - Canon and Nikon. Either of these are your best bet, and what you want from them is an entry level DSLR camera.
These cameras are extremely complex and are completely unlocked - meaning you control it all. However they do have modes that let you just shoot pictures as they balance the exposure for you (to stay friendly to those who are new.)
I don't know what the Nikon level is but in Canon its the Rebel series with the newest being the T3i (the last I checked).
Honestly I own a T1i and that caters to the vast majority of my professional work, as more often than not clients just want a clean photo that works well. Your gear limits you much less than your talent with this level of camera.
The price range for a used T1i should be around $400 while a newer T3i will probably be closer to $800 if you want a lens.
These cameras are sold both with and without a lens, make sure you get one with a lens as it just gives you a starting place.
Alternatively you can jump up to the higher level camera (again I only know the canon name) which would be the 7D. This camera is significantly more powerful and will allow greater video ability (arguably the best reason to own a Canon).
Either way to decide between the two companies your best bet is to feel them both in your hand and see which system you like more. People will claim one is better than the other, they each have strengths and weakness with the major strength of Canon being everyone owns one so you 're more likely to find help with it.
What kind of photography level are you looking to shoot for? Consumer / hobbyist / enthusiast / prosumer / semi-pro / pro?
Unfortunately because of the extremely high cost of photography equipment - it has been split up into many different categories for people to be able to buy what they need.
in the UK we have very clear grading systems where something either is or it isn't. If they are speciying a particular GPA then surely precisely what that means as standard becomes quite important? anyhow the main thrust of my point, which I think you agree with, was about the principle of lying on CVs, to which the debate of whether or 2.98 would be a lie is an adjunct.
Any particular area of economics that interests you the most? Are you OK with purely theoretical work, or would you like something which integrates history and economic theory?
In all candor, the very best book for the very intelligent lay person is Friedman's Monetary History of the United States. It will be very slow going, and may be a bit much if you have no background in the subject, but its ~1100 pages of undisputed macroeconomic brilliance.
Paul Kennedy's Rise and Fall of the Great Powers is also a masterwork of pre-depression economics, that is, economics where the outcomes are determined predictably by the Solow growth model. He makes serious mistakes in addressing the post-war period, but is more accessible than Friedman, is a very good starting place, and he wonderfully integrates classical economics with political and military sciences.
It would have stopped him from displaying beta-male mannerisms and traits and generally have more spice in their relationship or whatever. Personally I just think it doesn't matter because hes a beta.
Thank you! I never feel like I can explain sufficiently what I mean, in English. But then again I get that feeling with Swedish too, but faster. It's good to know that I make some sense to someone!
