Tubes are at 40-mA, factory says they should be 100-mA, in reality, they should be about 120-140 mA. I'm just going to solder in a bias knob at 250-kΩ. Then I can adjust on the fly, either run them cold for a vintage/Beatles sound or I can cook 'em and dial my inner Zakk Wylde at 100W.

If you buy Ibanez, you can't go wrong with any of the MIJ Ibanez. You can get into a Japanese strat (an RG550/570) for around $500 on the evilBay in player condition. DO NOT go below that level though... if it's not a serial # beginning with a capital "F" (for "Fujigen", the plant where they're made) don't bother. Ibanez's Indonesian and Korean guitars are passable in rare cases IMO, but I'm admittedly a guitar snob. Only the Fujigen plant guitars for me.

No Carvin guitars, just the amps. I have a V212 cabinet, along with a 1989 Carvin x100b head & 4x12 amp. I just finished restoring it, and now I have to bias the tubes, they're running at about half-power so it sounds like shit at the moment. The guitars are all Ibanez and Charvel/Jackson. Never owned a Carvin. Wanted to, but the right one never came along. The Jason Becker series are enticing, I might give one of those a try.

I collect as well as play and produce, so... GAS never goes away. Thankfully I have an understanding spouse. I'd like to try an XL+ but can't bring myself to pay the entry price.

You're an interesting poster. I can't say I agree with you on everything, but you definitely articulate well. Hopefully, we'll get the chance to have a discussion in the future.

Oh a documentary. I have a ton of those because I enjoy them.

You sound pretty well accomplished. Good for you. Like I said before your posts reflect that. NYU is quite reputable. I am sure you have learned a lot from your father. My pop was an M.D. And I learned a great deal from him.

I hate to say this, but I can't stand Paul Volcker....he has too big a rap sheet!!

Which document are you talking about? I actually got my source from a book called "Steeling the mind of America."

You have read the book "Creature from Jekyll Island" right?

Well anyway, I have a question for you........are in economics or are you just interested in economics?

I am pretty sure we have talked about this before......"the creature from Jekyll Island." And I know you are aware of that (which I think you read the book) so why would you say I am a bit Marxist?
