I planned my life by figuring out what I want, what I love, and how they connect.
I want to stay healthy and I love competing. So, I am going to be involved with exercise science and sports. Remember you don't have to do EXACTLY the job you have in mind to be happy. That is most people's first mistake. They think "If I like music, I must be a musician.. and that's too risky." No, there are so so many jobs you could do in the music industry. You just have to understand that your goal is to be surrounded by music. Even if you are an usher at a concert, you still get to listen to the music live every week and THAT is exciting. Just get as close as possible to whatever it is you love and keep getting closer. That's all there is to it, really.
See it as a challenge, a way to prove to yourself and to the world that you can do anything. See it as just another obstacle on your path to success and happiness. It's a test. Everything is. If you can do one thing you can do anything, it's all about willpower. Don't think that anyone out there isn't afraid, don't assume there are people walking around who feel like they know exactly what they're doing. Nobody does. They just wing it. They just do their best, and they don't back down, they don't allow their fear or doubt to deter them. Forge ahead, no matter what, FORCE yourself to finish what you started and you will almost always impress yourself. Then the more you see good results, the more you start to believe in yourself, and the more it all just starts to happen for you..
Yes, independence is an interesting concept. Most of us in life as we are younger want to run away from responsibility because we see it as destroying our freedom. Yet the older we get, the more we seem to realize that being responsible means you are in charge, and thus are free to choose.
That's interesting, writing seems like it should be just effective, if you don't have a notebook handy though speaking it out loud is perhaps a good alternative.
