Please accept my apology for not responding to your message in September regarding your project; I have been offline completely for quite some time. Your project sounds fascinating indeed yet unfortunately I am not sufficiently artistically inclined to provide you with any engaging comments other than that I enjoyed the lovely work on your Facebook page. Keep up the good work! Large or small everything seems to make some bit of difference.

Yeah, Townsend definitely has a sunny side to some of his music. But he can get dark also. It realle depends on which album, Ziltoid is for the most part just heavy and epic and cliche sci-fi. I like that Murder in Phazes album. Will listen to those youtube vids.

On page 3 and page 12 of my blog I've got a whole list with songs I like very much. I picked the ones most "metal" out of it. Though there are more rock songs in those lists on my blog.

I only know a bit of Textures. They were called the Dutch Meshuggah, so I had to check that out.

I quite liked that song from Blindead. Didn't they just release a new album? I think I read something about that, not sure.

Hmmm..., the ones I've listed actually are the ones I really really like listening to, that are straight metal. Also Sepultura, they kinda have that Machine Head groove riffs. They have 3 very popular albums who many people discuss is the best. Beneath The Remains (more straight trash metal), Chaos A.D. (more like Machine Head) and Roots ofcourse. And there is also their album Arise, but I haven't listend to that one yet.

Devin Townsend Project. His albums really varie every time. Ziltoid is very heavy and is just something you'll atleast want to hear from beginning to end, though. It's about Ziltoid The Omniscient, who wants to qonquer the universe and needs a cup of coffee from the earth or he'll destroy it. Townsend is a crazy fucker. Ki is more zen/yoga/relaxed. His music isn't like anything you've heard before, he's also quite humorous. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eDngElZBxQ
He often also puts the Ziltoid puppet on stage or on video or something.

Fredrik Thordendal's "special defects sol niger within" is cool also if you like Meshuggah. But you really need to be in the mood for it because it is even more hellish/experimental than Meshuggah.

Paradise Losts's Draconian Times album is really good. Kinda like Metallica, but more uhmmm... magical/earthy/medieval, just a bit , though.

Porcupine Tree I like some stuff from. Their album "Fear of a Blank Planet" I used to listen too alot. Also saw them live at that time, great great show. It's kinda like uhmmmm...TOOL, maybe, nah, I dunno. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bcE_LUxaJY
I seldom listen to other stuff from them, but I dunno why, I'm so lazy.

Nile. I like their "Those Whom The Gods Detest" album. I barely listen to death metal, so I can't really describe it.

I'll post some of my fav "metal" songs later. I'll have to go through quite a big list to find them.

Ok, I will. But I don't listen to much new music these days, so it will be a short list. Also am busy working-out at the moment, so will have to wait. I would like to hear your recomendations, though I might not give it all a full album listening because I'm so lazy.

Thanks for sharing your experiment. I finally set aside some time to look over your site and I must say the content is both mystifying and intriguing. Weird is good! Do you plan on updating the blog further?

It's a clear and pithy handle with strong connotations of power, majesty, and otherworldly mystique. Not to mention I simply like the assertive timbre of the name Horus. Moreover, its associations with ancient Egyptian history remind me of a cherished friend and mentor.

Incidentally, how is your zeitgeist research going? You've piqued my interest.

Oh, I just saw the genre... progressive/djent is my favorite actually, so you probably know of Periphery, Btbam, Born of Osiris, Opeth, After the Burial, Volumes, etc, etc... I've been on a huge Btbam kick lately, as well with Periphery.
