Wow, cats can be crazy like that. They're very curious and want to play with anything that moves. Sounds like your little guy's a ball of energy.

Bet Randall Munroe would have a field day with the scene you described!

Ah, okay. I understand. As long as both of you understand and flex for each other, it can work.

:lmao: How do your pets get along? Don't you have a mischievous kitten?

Quite frankly Jen, if I had to live with someone like that, it would be too tempting to slip into her room in the middle of the night and use a pillow to silence!

Well that's good! Otherwise, the invasiveness would drive any NT into distraction. The 'silencing yourself' was hilarious, although it was meant kindly. Or, knowing your somewhat arch humour, maybe not.

Aha!! Your Fe and Si are acting up. She's making you feel like you NEED to be a certain way, hence creating an unsafe home base since you feel judged and pressured.

Why not push her back a bit, explaining the difference between introversion and extroversion in simple terms?

More hugs and warm vibes your way. Even though you mentioned that online interactions don't do it for you, I'm here and reading.

Btw, I fully agree with you about clicking with people. Wonder if part of it has to do with relaxing and being open to connection, instead of attempting to create connection, where the greater balance resides in unsaid cues that resonate within us. The more cues that connect/mesh, the greater likelihood of connection.

Just thought of something that spans many INTPs. They appear to need a secure home-base (partner-warmth-security concept) to anchor to, prior to exploration. This way, if something frightens them or they need time to subsume information, they can detach and retract to home-base.

((T1)) Be kind to yourself. You're feeling adrift right now, perhaps feeling more lonely since with the divorce, there's a severing of the warmth-family-safety-security concept that so many divorced people experience, particularly if they're not close to their own families. It's okay, you'll get over this period. You're a witty, intelligent, caring woman. You'll connect with someone.

But you're such an awesome person! And so easy to get along with.

What about the two women at work? They sounded pretty cool.

It's no surprise that you're an urban girl, considering your perception of life. Glad you're happier, where a divorce can be hard on everyone but once over, the sheer ecstatic freedom is well worth all the pain!

Yeah I know, think that's the NT side showing...
Funny thing (IMO) is that it's often the same OP, and always do these folks aggressively try to fill in those painful holes in their reasoning by obtaining reassurance from the others. They'll admit to nothing!

Yeah, I was kidding Though honestly I've thought of the term testostoruined, but turns out I'm also good at doing guy things and enjoy doing many of them. Just, taken out of context, that quote makes me snicker

Glad you enjoyed. It was meant as light-hearted humor, and I'm glad someone read it as such. You have one of my favourite forum names, btw.

It's fun, but there's too much of the whole 17 year old white male against the world vibe going on here... threads about Jewish elite conspiracies, scientific racism, etc. There's some good conversation too though.

hello jennywocky. I cant get the other forum to log in properly, but I thought you might appreciate a quote I saw over at the some other forum today from an INTJ. "My enfp boyfriend will keep arguing the same point until someone stabs him or the other person just gets bored and walks away" This sounds familiar. Still considering (Fi assessing) your PM as a knee jerk response will only be Te-ish in nature and thus without new synthesis of thought. Hope the B-day party went well.
