I mowed lawns when I was 12, and when I turned 16 and started looking for paid employment, after having been rejected for having 'no experience', my 'landscaping business' came in handy. LOL. Guess I should have stuck with it. Who'd a thunk that paid employment would suck so much?
Exactly! My reasons for the career shift is primarily (in addition to the fact that my career in IT is virtually over) to get up from this desk and work outside. Was your switch to Landscape Architecture a mid-career move?
That's cool. I was considering going into construction management (no background in construction whatsoever, though) when my career blue-screened. I see CM as project management where you produce a real and tangible product (the building, etc. as opposed to lines or code or a "fluff" document), which has it's attraction. But now I'm kicking around Civil Engineering, of which Geotechnical Engineering is a component. Yeah, "Dirt" Engineering...
