    True.

As far as what to do about it? Im really at a loss, I have no idea. If someone had said to me, just a few years ago, that we were gonna get rid of welfae, tell the UN to go fuck themselves, end the income tax, the FDA, DOE, deregulate a whole bunch of things, privatize a whole bunch of other, end the global military empire, institute a full gold standard, etc., I would have throught that they were batshit crazy and would have actively resisted it. Now, I would be very excited at the prospect. So it does boil down to awareness, and although we continue to keep growing, we do still have quite an uphill battle ahead as far as that is concenred.

I have kind of been waiting for a king or a Gandhi to rise up in the midst of all of this, the environment is quite ripe for it.

and then theres those who encourage it along, thinking that something fabulous will come from totalitarianism. Woo-wee!

I didnt realize the all pervasive scale of what we are up against until Bengazi, how the media really played that whole thing up on the global scale. We are in for quite a ride ahead unless we figure things out pdq.

Either way, lets assume we are both right, and the worst case scenario takes place. It will surely be very dark days for much of humanity, and it will decay our progress qnd destroy our potential for a very long time, but I have a hard time imagining such a setup for all of times. This is looking at the bright side, of the very darkest side, but maybe what we have ahead is like a historical hump that we are just going to have to get through, like perhaps how the death and destruction of the crusades set off the chain of events that brought us the renaissance.

As dark as things potentially look, its just hard for me to imagine that, as far as we have gone for thousands of years of history, that we would really have such a leap backwards like this as some sort of permanent situation. It just doesnt make any sense.

Additionally, I should add that I don't think that the course is inevitable, but that the system is definitely nudging in that direction.

My wild guess is an economic collapse, kicking up a bunch of unrest, then all out dictatorship, gleefully accepted as a solution by the people themselves. Will probably come with the usual drummings of providing us with safety, protecting our freedoms, bla bla bla.

That's a very good answer. Similar thing happen in prison where inmates install rules that are harder than those of their guards.

You never know on INTJf so I figured I'd ask. You're welcome. The med decision was one of the hardest we've ever had to make as parents. I get so annoyed when people equate spanking with beating.

Depending on your 'skills', I have a suggestion.

You seem fairly 'into' MBTI, so use that as your conceptual anchor, in general. Specifically the anchor will be your 'N'.

Start musing to yourself typical work interactions with her in which you have some opportunity to address this. The opportunity can be in the vein of , 'speaking of ...' or 'by the way', or some such.

To test the waters, if you feel unsure of going forward with the 'full Monty', pick some aspect of the goal topic to discuss. This will give you a bit of feedback as to what may be going on in her head on the overall topic.

    Good Luck.

You're welcome. I actually read about the book of Eclessiastes not a long time ago, but I had to research a bit more to provide a decent answer. And... I enjoyed every bit of it.
