Have you ever tried adderall? Saw you in some other dude's thread and it reminded me of your situation.

But you did that because even though you have achieved "success", your life felt hallow - you did not find life worth living despite having accomplished things that were said to grant you that feeling. Therefore, you felt powerless in obtaining life satisfaction. Or something. I dunno. That just struck me there.

I consider myself smart enough to see the inherent malevolence in psychiatry.

Then enlighten me to the "benefits" of psychiatry.

Wha? Seems a bit silly. I guess this is what I get for skim-reading rules... =\

Good post. I often forget this is a board full of INTJs, who can handle rationalized thoughts of this nature. The ones we shield from the outside world; they just make too much sense.

Fair enough, though I wouldn't do that because I don't think living is valuable either. Which is why your thread has been so fascinating to follow.

And that actually does help, so thank you.

But yeah, this basically is my life right here.

Interesting. Have you always been able to silence anxiety, or did you have to train yourself to do so?

Hm, for something to be a passion or "matter" to you, you have to assign value to it. So what one values is one's purpose or passion. It can be difficult to feel passionate.
I would suspect the circles and their growing incompleteness as one's concept of valuing things deteriorates are meant to represent the inner state of a person.
Or I have it completely back-assward and have no clue what he's talking about and just don't realize it.

Hopefully you won't take offense in the levity. I've found that most of my quandaries and emotions can be conveyed through PFSC comics.

They're in the same drug class but the chemical structures and actions are markedly different. I've never taken wellbutrin myself but it is an old drug, and adderall isn't prescribed as readily because it can be abused and there's supposedly a shortage of it.

Entirely different mechanism than standard SSRIs, generally not used to treat depression. Makes me feel excited about life at times when I'd otherwise feel pretty apathetic. It's absolutely remarkable, may be worth a try.

    ever try adderall?

I've read some of your threads... I can relate with some things. I experience sudden changes from meaningful to meaningless and so on, sometimes.
