Hey you. RBM said you were the best. I think I share the same gift as you do. Anyway, he said the forums were too hateful at times and the brutality could be that way also and you might have taken a break,. I am glad you are back. I am looking forward to meeting someone as myself. A real oddball! LOL.. Nah, not really. It's a love/hate relationship. I love that I have it but hate when it happens but then I am glad it happened. Okay, so a real train wreck... lol

Sequoia, is there an INFJ board? I have a young guy who could use some guidance.

I can't imagine heralding science as the be-all and end-all of all sources of knowledge and understanding.

I had a similar argument with a friend recently. I simply argued that science can't answer "why?" It never can. It can say "how", it can describe a thing, its form, it's function, but beyond the function, science can never say why a thing exists or why it acts in a particular way.

So I'm happy enough operating outside of what science can explain. Pity more aren't like that.

I read a little on it and that seems to describe it. I think this is a case of, "You'll never understand if it never happened to you."

No, by brood I mean wallow in states of depression, letting things weigh on you, etc.

    INFJs are brooders by reputation.

    Aren't they?

    So why all the brooding?

How about if I squish this puppy I have here?

Seriously explain the brooding thing, though.

No, don't take offense. Of course nothing's wrong with being an F; all my close friends are F's.

    I'm just having a laugh.

I do not know if the trout slap originated on AnandTech's Off Topic area, but I do know that it first appeared there around 2001/2002. It was wielded only by women.

I call 'em like I see 'em. I think it was mostly iNtuitives riffing off of each other. One had a misread, and they all had to chime in. I get especially ticked off when posters start suggesting that others are arguing dishonestly ("backpedaling"). My position on such is, "if you have a useful argument to make, make it, but if all you're going to do is say that my argument is dishonest, then I shall waste no more time on you." One of the reasons for my tongue-in-cheek comment is that I usually see the Ti types (TP/FJ) making such accusations, and it's one of my current barometers for typing others.

Tongue-in-cheek, defending the INFJ against all of these INTJ and ENTJ attacks.
