Sorry to offend. Flippancy is how I deal with 'issues'. But seriously, everyone's life's a mess. No-one really has their shit together and in your case at least you have legitimate reason not to have your shit together, you've dealt with a major illness. Something a lot of people will never know in their lifetime. But what I've learnt is that when things go pear-shaped the point at which we truly give up and surrender to it, instead of trying to control it, is the point at which we are set free. Thinking we can actually fix stuff is what stops things from improving. Our lives are like a cork in the ocean, it only ever goes underwater when we push it down with our effort. As soon as we let go, it floats again. The day I gave up was the day things turned around for me. Not on a dime but fast enough that the bad times are a distant memory now.

I'm always serious, I'm an INTJ. And for the record INTJs take themselves way too seriously so don't believe everything you read on a forum. Half of it's bullshit. *wink*, You'll always be the beaver to me.

Don't be hard on yourself. I was only joking around. For the longest time I only attracted men who weren't into me. Go figure....why approach someone you're not really into...wtf?

Oh dear. Not much difference, really, considering alcohol is a drug. Really try reading those 23 pages. I'm sure any decent library has the book.

I made my kids read it after dealing with their grandma last summer after she had a bypass. She was so completely nuts. I wanted them to understand what they were dealing with, and they seemed to find the info useful.

Again, best of luck to you!

I thought introverts were shy, I guess they don't have to be. I am not shy, but I hate crowds and require copious amounts of alone time.

LOL no. INTP/ENTP have the exact same functions. My Ne/Ti just jump back and forth. I was a little e, now I am a little i. I have the freedom to decide this, you see
    Why so snarky today?

Irrigation, when you're dealing with intrusion in wells and water rationing/optimization can get very complicated. It's like anything else, if you don't care about waste or long term costs you can get away with all kinds of janky "good enough" designs. When you start to contaminate wells because of over pumping or need to figure out how to keep hundreds of acres under cultivation during a water shortage the need for engineering makes sense.

Government hires municipal, transportation and environmental engineers to deal with all kinds of "people" problems and those problems happen in small communities as well as large ones. A small town still needs a storm system, water treatment and road maintenance. It's not as complicated as the infrastructure in a metropolis but they still need experts to plan and maintain the community's infrastructure.

That's a big part of it; rural areas still need water resources engineers for wells and irrigation. Water agencies tend to have monitoring stations at headwaters (mountains). Pretty much any town, even small ones, need CEs to maintain infrastructure and deal with problems as they crop up.
