Unless you have a specific interest in Chemistry or Structures (Civil), I'd suggest focussing on EnvE. EcoE is a newer term, and I'd be a bit cautious. You don't want to get too far outside employers' comfort zone. Right now EnvE is quite well accepted. You might go to a job board and compare the job opportunities for Eco vs Env E. There will certainly be more for Env, but read the descriptions, and if the Eco ones are more interesting to you, that's worth considering too. As for getting out of the office, it's not too much for me now - say, 1 day in 10. When you're younger, you spend a lot of time in the field, like 6 days in 10. You're iNtuitive, so do your basic research, but then go with the option that seems like the best fit for you personally. There's sure to be lots of overlap between all the options, so even if you make the "wrong" decision, you're still likely at least 80% right. Good luck.

Welcome to the dark side!!! Muhahahah!! Try being an enfp on for size for awhile and see if it fits. To be honest I think the MBTI system is too constraining and much of the value is what an individual can gain for them selves by exploration of different types.

Hi, yes I keep it that way because I seem to move from a P to J sometimes in a pretty strong way and then also between E and I. So I just left it like this. The only thing I'm sure of is the NF. Genki?

The most exciting thing I have on the go is a paper I'm trying to publish on aquifer health in the journal ground water. I've never published an academic paper, so it's a new and humiliating experience. I'm also working on a new business venture in environmental/social impact assessment "Right now it's only a notion, but I think I can get the money to make it into a concept, and later turn it into an idea." Woody Allen. What are you up to?

or Thailand. I had a friend that wanted to get a tent and live in Thailand. 1 buck is 40 bucks there. But I think coca cola is like 23 bucks a can.

I was just thinking about monasticism and was wondering how it's viewed in Japan. Are there monasteries? How are they viewed? Catholic monasteries are having trouble finding people to sustain them. Is it the same way in Japan?

The presentations were a mix of work related stuff and purely academic stuff. For example, one was, "The History and Mathematics of Pi". It was a full house. Another was on certain kinds of advanced data structures; another was a three-session derivation of the Special Theory of Relativity from *scratch*. I never had trouble getting 20+ people to come to these things with bag lunches from Noon to One to hear a presentation on something that sounded interesting. The thing I enjoyed most was, that once I became known for doing these things, people began to suggest topics, brings friends along... stuff like that.

I'm putting together a set of seminars for the public that I am going to do on behalf of the University at which I teach. One of those will be "Calculus: What's it all about?"
