In don't know if you'd break the machine, but you'd have to reboot. you don't want to be rebooting a mainframe.

I went back to grad school for an MS in IS. (Didn't finish) ALso took some COBOL courses at a community college. Got a job as an intern where my brother used to work. After a year, they promoted me and sent me to Europe, so I didn't finish grad school.

Getting ideas? I worked next to a company that did computer animation for medical companies. They'd animate how a heart pumps or a drug works. It was cool!!

Yes, many companies are switching off COBOL. I think it's a huge mistake. I LOVE COBOL. It's prefect for business transaction processing. Very simple and easy to understand, Not very powerful, so you can't break a machine if you screw up. W C++ you can overwrite system memory if you screw up. C++ is much more cryptic. In fact, I think COBOL just isn't geeky enough for some people, and it's not impressive to look at the code, because it looks like English. I think COBOL, DB2, on an IBM mainframe with a web front end is the perfect platform.

I am a COBOL programmer on IBM mainframes. I work with people in their 40's, 50's and 60's. Sometimes a young person, but it's rare because they don't teach COBOL anymore.

No, work has been good recently. (knock on wood, I have stuff going into production today, tomorrow and Friday?) And I've been sleeping better, which is really good. I started talking Melatonin at night. That helped a little. But then I started taking African Mango in the am, and I swear to God, I think it makes me sleep better. It is supposedly for getting rid of belly fat and helping people with Leptin resistance. I'm on a health newsletter, and got an anrticle about it. But, I think it's helping me sleep??? But, I Goggle'd it, and there seems to be a connection. For instnce... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC535701/ "Short Sleep Duration Is Associated with Reduced Leptin, Elevated Ghrelin, and Increased Body Mass Index." Leptin resistance might be the same to your body and reduced Leptin.

My brother wants me to write an ebook about easy, natural health cures. hahahaha

Enjoy your time off!! Hang at the beach.
