Smart, dumb, important or not, it's certainly done everywhere. It does feel good to successfully defend against it, and even parlay it into good fortune.

I'll hopefully end up doing small high importance projects, out from under shithead's umbrella and now shithead is going to have to do the job of maintaining a massive 3rd party code base which was the bane of my existence.

Better yet, when he tries, and fails, to do my old job, his inevitable attempts to covertly get my help on it are going to be promoted to public email channels.
