I think I got it though.

Sometimes it's said that metaphysics doesn't offer definite answers or practical solutions, and is unnecessary for these reasons. My opinion is that it's closely related to other fields of science, like physics (cosmology) and psychology (concept of time). It reveals something essential of our way of thinking (like you said) and for that has an absolute value.

Personally I study logic, aesthetics and every other branch of philosophy, but what really gets me excited is metaphysics.

I wish I could have a philosophical discussion in English. I understand what you're saying (many text books are in English here), but if I try to translate my thoughts, they seem to become vague and absurd.

Existentialism is close to my heart (brains?), but I'm very interested to see the big picture: how did it all start and what led the thinkers to current theories.

    I agree.

I'm fascinated by aletheia. Heidegger used the term, too.

Thanks Owen! (I was cracking up about the Orange Julius crack--so mundane it's hilarious)

I'm glad I'm not the only one. We folks at INTJf can all be strange together, dammit!

When I write in the air with my finger, I "erase" things with a wave of my hand and start over again if I make a mistake.

(those nice men in the white coats would get a kick out of that........*chuckles*)

You're not even distracted by the screaming of a thousand souls in agony? Hardcore, Owen.

I'm with you regarding general confusion about the technology typography poll. I'm beginning to think there's a built-in bias against people willing to try catfish tacos.

Speaking of which, glad to hear that experiment went smoothly. Risks like that sometimes do not end happily. Glad yours did. I'm definitely on the lookout now for catfish tacos, and once I've had some, I'll start a new thread: "The incongruous, totally bizarre, ridiculously absurd catfish tacos club." I'm open to other names.

I'll keep my 10 points, thanks. I'll treasure them always.

I'll send you these bits soon; I do have your email, don't I?

Of course you realise this only leads to further questions!

    - What can they be redeemed for, if anything?
    - Is there some private criteria for allocation? If so, what is it?

There are some more pretties & vintage amongst them on my av thread if you'd like full versions of anything.
