There is nothing like seeing a bunch of passive aggresive, backstabbing, egotistical, petty authoritative, power holders throwing their weight around and acting as though their shit don't stink.

It's even funner to watch when one (I) doesn't have any part of it. I just got finished last night reading the HOA covenants concerning a building lot that I thought I wanted to purchase.

Ahh, me too! I loved the idea of setting up a little area to live and getting the necessities. I would read it, then drag my friends out into the Michigan rain because we had to "survive" in the back yard. I'm sure they have fond memories.

I've always been a sucker for nostalgia so that poem has always appealed to me. Another good one is Elegy Written in a Country Church-yard. I would have posted that but it's kinda long.

Ha! We must have been writing at the same time. Looks like we posted two minutes apart. I didn't list the quantity you did, but if asked for a follow-up, I would have suggested most of the same ones. I didn't think about Ammons (good choice, but I'm less familiar with his work) or Pope, who is also a good choice. "Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind!"

Hope you and your wife are all better now. Good to see you back.

My mother use to make what we called HashSpams. Hashbrown potatos with broken up Spam stirred through it. Also fried spam slices, Spam sandwiches, Spam chunks in pancakes. I've had plenty of experience with Spam. I do have to admit, I liked the HashSpams the best.

oh no! i hope it's sick as in a cold or mild flu, and nothing more serious! hope she gets well soon!

i generally am well bundled from the hips upwards but my legs tend to be rather neglected. i think they're ok, they keep themselves warm where they can, but a pair of leggings wouldn't go amiss (of which i have plenty in my cupboard).
