I like that myths exist. I like that everyone was curious enough, that people needed answers so dearly that they made up wild stuff just to have something to believe in.

I remember that one. Zeus was a total weirdo. He would impregnate everyone, in the weirdest ways. One time he's a swan, next he swallows someone, then he's golden rain.....

Oh, and who can forget when he burned up Semele and took out little unborn Dionysus, stuck him in his side (or leg, depending on the myth) and then re-birthed him.

    Mythology is weird.

I have a tee shirt from a polar plunge. I wasn't a volunteer at that one, because I don't like the cold, but I did every other volunteer opportunity they had. I like it.

While too cold to really spend much time in the water, it is actually pretty nice and quite during the winter months, too. I've gone swimming in January while it was raining, though I wouldn't recommend doing that. Not that great of an experience

I was up on the top of Grandfather mountain this past weekend. So gorgeous. They have a mile-high swinging bridge that you can go on, and then do a bit of off the trail rock climbing past that. I was too much of a sissy to go the entire length, but I did go up about 100ft past the one mile point. I love the mountains. And while I personally prefer the beach and the beauty of the ocean, I can understand the bit about finding happiness in being around the opposites.

Guns are definitely funner. Given your history though, it does get me wondering if there are any underlying motives.......

I would like to eat those, but I haven't got a grill. Maybe I could try frying them with butter and brown sugar. Apples are good that way.

I played with all of the things your family and friends didn't let you. I only cut off one of my fingers, but some dr sewed it back on and it works at a 98% level......well enough that I can wave. *waves again*

Robby Benson (gag) and Don Johnson (double gag) were the heart throbs of my generation but I always had a crush on Rex Harrison

I was thinking that maybe the piano version is slightly more cerebral. I'm not sure if that's due to the differences in the two instruments or to Horowitz's style compared to Segovia's. I'm not about to accuse Segovia of not being cerebral, or anything! The guitar version seems "gentler" somehow, and the piano version more........cerebral. I don't know how else to put it.

Re: meditative navel gazing. Have you tried it? I don't think I'm flexible enough. I'd probably get a stiff neck or something.

She's wonderful. But at the end, the last sentence she says in the movie, she really gets to me!

My kids and I hate the lion. We can't stand him, actually.

Judy Garland as Dorothy really gets to me. She makes me cry at the end every time I watch that.

That's absolutely fascinating! Thanks for sharing that with me. I had no idea about any of that. It's so interesting and lends such a different context to that movie. The next time I watch I'll be paying attention to different things. My daughter really likes that movie.
