Yeah, lived there until I was 5. I kind of forgot the language though since I never had to use it here.

was it you that i recommended appleseed to? if so, glad you liked it. it's my favorite anime. i really like the characters, and i thought that scene where deunan sees her mother's hologram was haunting in the extreme.

Blitz Chess may be fun but it doesn't give you time to think (creatively) which leads a lot of room for mistakes I guess I really have no right to give you advice since I haven't had my fair share of victories but... have in mind that the same rule applies to your opponent as well regardless on which side of the board (s)he's playing (in theory) use this to your advantage. If you just want to do is win, it wouldn't hurt to try White for a change (assuming that you haven't tried that already) since it gives you the first move advantage (again in theory) but if you want to learn, you should practice on both sides of the board to have a better understanding of the game (in regular Chess), it will come naturally to you in time. Also since you're playing online Chess don't forget that your opponent is just as human as you are (I hope so) even Grand Masters have to lose eventually, no one is truly invincible.

I dare him to do it in my city. He will get beaten up so bad lol.

THAT'd be the lucky outcome here where he'd just get run over. Still you gotta hand it to the dude, it takes some SERIOUS nuts and/or trust in your fellow human to do that anywhere but Oregon or Canada.

there is a lame sequel to 2004 called ex-machina, the original was in the late 80s and is kind of primitive, and there's yet another reboot that's more photorealistic, but the story and characters aren't as strong as 2004. i think you'll enjoy it. let me know.

which one? one is appleseed 2004, and the other is metropolis. both are EXCELLENT, and i consider the "middle" reboot of appleseed to be the best anime ever... with all of the action of the matrix, but with characters that don't suck
