I am when the questions aren't malicious. This is a very specific situation that occurs, that I never experienced pre-vegetarian.

btw, despite the impression one might get from what some people say while talking on certain subjects - the US is a pretty okay country. Could be better... But most places and things can

Like the demonization of Muslims... Go spend time in any country, and people are still people, and they mostly behave the same and have generally similar beliefs.
(Although perhaps real success has more to do with the nuances )

This thread was never really intended to be more than abstract, and it has a conceptual Comp Sci bias. But you might find the idea interesting.

Although I could just summarize it too: Destruction is one of the simplest and most mindless approaches to creating incremental improvement in an environment - especially in an environment that isn't constant, but rather, changes over time.

Basically, you dislike something (identify a problem), and then you remove the agent that causes it - without understanding why, or how that agent came to be that way, or what better options there might be (or even how you may have contributed to creating the mess in the first place).

Its stupid, but if you look at human / animal history - it has been widely used, and does kinda work... It just takes forever, and badly wastes resources, because its not an intelligent approach... Even so, it has the marginal benefit, that it will work to partially optimize systems, without you having to understand them much.

No doubt, you're right. But empathy is also part of emotional intelligence. Thanks for your answers.

Forgot about Wallace and Gromit-- love the little guy. Enjoyed his toy train chase vs the penguin criminal.

I agree that there is always the possibility of something like this happening, even with close friends. I sort of failed to express what I think when people say they got raped in my previous posts and was about to rewrite it in my reply to your post. But it got absurdly long and I still didn't manage to put it into words that convey exactly what I mean and it probably wasn't that relevant to your case anyway so I scratched the whole thing.

Big fan of Csikzentmihalyi's work. This forum could use more exposure to his/related perspectives.
