I've seen a few eps of Samurai Champloo. Although I still need to complete it... thanks for the heads up, Bisclavret.

The music! Oh, how could I forget the blues and the jazz? It's part of the reason I got interested in the music of John Coltrane... but that's another story.

Cowboy Bebop... yes. It didn't have the sass of Firefly, but there were other dimensions to it. Like subtlety and layers. It was also meant for the visual medium. *suddenly nostalgic*

Hello. I haven't forgotten about the writing project. I have some personal distractions I have to work out at present.

No, currently not a member of any writing forum.

But I am subscribed to Longform.org, which showcases well-written OpEds and fiction extracts. I believe it is run by MFA students. I highly recommend it.

For grammar and style, http://afterdeadline.blogs.nytimes.com/?_r=0 is pretty helpful.

I was just going through each of the posts in the writer's thread and suffice to say, I came across your post on 'Originality' and 'Firefly'. I deeply apologize for suggesting it again.

Great show, wasn't it? Breadth of characters, witty interactions and all. Joss Whedon at his best; too bad the series got pulled out after first season. Are there any other writing forums you haunt?

i see where i misunderstood you, or to explain it better - sometimes trying to express myself is like herding cats. i had a lot of ideas tumbling around when i responded this morn, and i made a false connection (escapism and wish-fulfillment to an idyllic setting, a perfect place to escape). and no telling what else i was thinking. i'm glad you set me straight.

anyway, i liked your response. you put things so much better (which is why you are the writer).

i would have thought a war journalist would appeal to you.

Out late??? Don't party too hard with that new group of writers.
It's okay, I'm thoroughly ensconced in The End Of Eternity. I will likely finish in the next hour or so... I'm anxious to discover what happens!

I like your second submission. Haven't gotten to a review because, you know. Turkey.

debauched wasn't the right word in that context. i'll try to clarify (and look at the others) after i sleep a few hours.

Nice deke! The majority of regulars have posted pics at one time or another. It's your turn.

Chewie's awesome, although a tad noisy.

Ha ha...you, Jez, stasis, Teybo, LeeRoy, possibly castalia (although that 'friend' pic might have been her) are a few of the regulars who haven't ever posted pics or if you have, I've missed it. Since I'm a nosy mofo, inquiring minds need to know.

    bwahaha!

fwiw, i think i'm most partial to joker. i feel like a new headcanon might be developing around that image! sort of an incredibly debauched, errant bourgeois merchant... can't you imagine _the killing joke_ done ren-style?

i'm surprised that i liked spidey so well this way. i can't put my finger on exactly why.

the article said there are several that aren't available to view online. i want to see goldberger's version of the x-men!
