05-01-2013 09:41 AMGirlWithTheLimeI'm one of those I'm afraid. Near computer illiterate *hides face* I read an article in Wired about these evil hacker dudes that basically sold people malware under the label of antivirus software. Things like that scare the living shit out of me! Bad, evil internet!! :P

04-30-2013 04:13 AMGirlWithTheLimeFacebook is all about external validation: I want others to "like" me! And it's creepily voyeuristic. My Facebook account got hacked by someone I knew way back in the early days of Facebook. He sent horrible messages to my friends and posted really awful things. It made me realise how fragile an online persona really is. People had no way of knowing that it wasn't me. Makes one wonder about online identities...

04-29-2013 02:02 AMGirlWithTheLimeI prefer oranges. Limes are rare in South Africa. *self concious because it comes across so, I dunno, juvenile?* I would like to be your friend. Coz u seem to post insightful things. I find the whole concept of being "friends" with someone on the internet very strange. I'm not on Facebook, so it's not like I have Facebook "friends". Why "friend" someone online at all? Why "friend" someone on this forum? What are your thoughts?

I literally LOL'ed. Every time I see your nick I read it as satsuma. I don't really like satsumas. Despite the ridiculously funny Eddie Izzard skit.

Yes. Facts are the raw material for creative thought. Without facts, creativity cannot exist.

Outstanding. Very well put. I notice, however, that you leave it out there as a statement of fact without going one way or the other....will be interesting to see the responses.

Nice to see a Kantian on this site. Shame your interlocutors are not really engaged with the argument in your OP at all. I think most people stopped reading at "rational religion" to think up clever synonyms for "oxymoron." I appreciate your efforts though.

Have you read Thomas Paine's "Age of Reason"? I think you'd enjoy it.
