I may get an opportunity to try such an event in two days. I'm nervous just thinking about it. I'm wondering if anyone has had good experiences with these. I'll probably take negative comments with a grain of salt, though (meaning I have a positive outlook on this). I do expect there to be some genuine girls. After further research out of personal interest (psychology and science are 2 areas that can really hold my attention) I stumbled upon this forum, started reading and found myself agreeing with what the vast majority of you have to say and share personal interests (science fiction etc).

I came here with one specific purpose in mind: figure out how to NOT be constantly misunderstood, which I'm sure is not a foreign concept to other INTJs. Perhaps familiarizing myself with others like me will make it easier to communicate with the world at large.

-Mid-twenties, female, with a long-time significant other
-I live and work on a cattle ranch
-Things I enjoy: creative writing (mainly SF, steampunk, and fantasy), reading/collecting books, the outdoors, animals, cinema, music, gaming (WoW, SWTOR, FF, and rpg's in general)

I've always wondered if it had to do with English not being my mother tongue or if English natives also had the same reaction as a child, so here's the thing. Up until my pre-teens, whenever I watched TV and got the "We're sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties, please stand by" message, I thought they meant that we were supposed to get up and stand by the TV (perhaps for safety reasons?) until the problem was resolved.

There's the US's indispensable trading friend China throwing down the gauntlet. The sooner people recognize China as a threat the better. It's different if I'm just brainstorming. I actually come up with some of my best ideas while working out and listening to music.

Another writer I know can't work unless the TV's on in the background. I once read that Stephen King listens to blaring heavy metal music when he writes.

How do you focus best? Music? Background conversation? White noise? Nature sounds?

I declared war on my blocked nostril, how dare it oppose my brain...And began to forcibly blow it with the force of a thousand suns. Needless to say this backfired spectacularly when I nigh on collapsed an ear drum and blew an eyeball out. I began a search for some means to give myself a nasal douche. Lo and behold, I stumbled on the yogic art of cleaning out your nose with a small pot of warm saline, a Neti Pot.

Stooped in the shower after my run, sterile water and salt mix in my pot, I introduced the nozzle to my nostril and tilted my head. Initially nothing happened, then...A curious and mildly painful sensation of having a full head, and drowning...yep drowning...took hold and I wimped out. But a tonne of fresh gunk poured down the drain hole. Nice. So I tried again. This time I tilted my head in a variety of different angles, and breathed through my mouth to avoid dying from induced drowning. The sensation of a full head returned and it began to feel unpleasant again. I continued wobbling my head around to find the correct tilt to induce drainage and then it happened...A lovely stream of warm saline at first dribbled, then flowed out of my other nostril. For the first time in years my nostrils were talking to one another. I repeated the process with the pot jammed in the other side. Lovely warm water trickling through my tubes, cleaning out my inner plumbing (I can hear better)...Great gobs of off looking mucus emerged, and both nostrils are now open for business.

Hours later, it's like breathing in fresh mountain air all day...I can only blame pollution and diesel dust for what has been clogging up my nose for x many years.
