Actually, I couldn't decide between ground water and groundwater, so I went into public health instead.

Thanks, I really appreciate your thoughts on this. I believe he could do something unusually special in his life if we give him the proper nourishment...

What a wonderful thing! And to grow up in a home that offers such a rich linguistic heritage!

Let me give this a bit of thought, and I'll put some suggestions together.

Hi Monte, dunno if you'll see this or not. I just found out that my 8 year old son tested as "gifted" in math at the end of grade 2. I'm feeling a bit of the Spiderman "with great power comes great responsibility" pressure now. What are your thoughts? His grade 3 teacher is very good and giving him lots of extra enrichment in several subjects, planning that next year in grade 4 he'll be in a mixed 4/5 class and basically merge with the 5s and then go onto grade 6 with them. It seems reasonable to me, but if he's really bright, that won't last long, and by grade 7 he'll be bored again. Any insights or advice you might have would be very welcome. He's in public school in Canada, btw, learning in French, speaking English and Spanish at home.

Now what can I do with a bad babe...? I'm afraid she might frighten me and my wife is sure to be displeased. I'll have to pass on the bad babe tonight, but thanks.

As I get older, I find myself making more and more simple grammar and spelling errors. I cannot tell if it is my decaying neurons or my continued exposure to "amateur" writing. The internet is a boon to writing because everyone can get in, but the lack of editors means that the overall quality of what is being read is falling. Will it become a vicious circle? Dunno...
