Uuuh, I would like to live that high up. Athens seems... very big and nice. I should go there sometime. I would like to check out Akropolis.

Stockholm looks a big flat city. Athens is different. We live in flats, in buildings with five or six floors usually. Fortunately I live in a flat on the sixth floor, the last one. At least I can see the sky from my apartment. The air is polluted, because there is a lot of traffic every day. We really have many pollution problems. We work on that. We also try to use solar power (we have a lot here) with new methods like photovoltaic systems.I hope all these work.
I'm sending you a photo of Athens so you can see what I'm talking about

I live in a very small town and I can see the forest from my window. We have alot of forest in Sweden and even in the big cities you're not far away from trees. So I've never been exposed to bad air that much.

If you look at the link below you can see a picture of Stockholm and alot of trees.

I think you are right about sleeping habbits. Doing some exercise during the day, going to bed early -not watching TV -reading boring books -but only boring ones- and finally thinking something relaxing will help you sleep. If all these doesn't work...then I don't know... I quit. (LOL)
Of course, if you want to remain a night type is OK too I guess, but you have to remember that you shouldn't spend the whole night awake. Maybe setting a programme, like saying "I will stay awake only until 2 o'clock a. midnight". Then you can control your sleeping hours better, I guess.
Unfortunately in Athens we don't have many plants. Fortunately Athens is near to the sea. Sea breeze helps a lot the city to actually "breathe".
So you actually live in the country or the city you are living in is built next to a forest? I have an imange to my mind of small wooden resort hses - when I think of Sweden, but I don't know why.

Oh, I can't have milk. I'm lactose intolerant. I usually eat something before going to bed. I think the easiest way to change ones sleeping habits is to not sleep one night and then go to bed at 10 or 11 in the evening and wake up early and then keep it that way.

There are no plants in Athens? I feel blessed living so close to the forest.

Well if it is too hot in the night you can always use air condition. We do that often here in Greece, especially in Athens that the atmoshere is polluted and there are no plants, so high temperature make the situation worse.
So did you manage to sleep finally? Maybe you should try to drink some warm milk before you go to bed. That also usually helps. I suppose you should be sure that you are not hungry, thirsty or feeling uncomfortable when you go to bed, so you can you can have a good sleep.

I miss the spring and the summer, but I realized it will get hot during the nights which means even more trouble to get asleep. I should live in a fridge, would be nice because the food is allready there.

Me, on the contrary I can't function well at night. I work much during the day, I expand myself to many different things, and when it is quiet and dark I fall very easily asleep. Sometimes I try to keep myself awake-I even drink coffee-but even that doesn't work if I'm tired. Many times I want to watch an interesting movie late at night but sometimes I fall asleep.
It is not only the heat in Greece. It is also the sunshine. We have great sunshine during summer and even during winter. I love that, and it helps us a lot to feel cheery. But I also like the snow (maybe because I don't see it often). I like playing snowball fighting. (It might sounds a bit childish-but I like it).

We have had a lot of snow since early November but it's starting to melt now. It's pretty usual for Swedes to visit Greece even though it can get quite hot here in the summer.

Watching interesting things when going to bed is a terrible idea, and something I've done for years. I'm a night person and I find things more interesting at night, I'm more creative, it's quiet and dark.

Sweden! Great. So how is Sweden? How is the weather there? Am I right for the sunshine? I remember a lot of Swedish tourists that used to come to Crete that I was going on vacation every summer when I was a child. They loved the sunshine.

We usually don't have time to read something interesting or watch something really interesting on TV during the day, but if you want to sleep don't choose this time to watch anything-you will loose your sleep. It happens to me as well.

I live in Sweden. Haha! That book thing sounds helpful! Maybe I should try that. I usually lay in bed watching a movie or TV shows but I almost always find them interesting to watch. Maybe I should start watching something really boring?

Where do you live? There mustn't be much of sunshine there, right? I think getting some proper sleep certainly helps. I don't have problems with sleeping usually. In any case, when I go to bed and I can't sleep, I start reading a really boring book and I fall asleep imediately (LOL). Maybe you should try that.

It's cold and dark here but I'm excited for the upcoming spring. It sounds lovely in Greece. I can't get to sleep very easily so I tend to wake up at 12:00-14:00 and the sun goes down at 16:00 so I don't get much sunlight. This week I'm going to try to get up early and go to bed at a reasonable time.

Yes, I based that on your avatar. Frustrated or angry?
Anyway. Here in Greece, we have a lot of sunshine. When I feel frustrated I usually go for a walk by myself in the sunshine. Sunshine helps a lot. But even if there is no sunshine, a walk out in the fresh air, also helps. I hope you feel better soon

I'm fine. It's just that I've been ill for two and a half weeks and I haven't been able to sleep properly. I guess you based that on my avatar? I'm just frustrated at times, nothing fancy.
