Most embarrassing moment?
06-02-2010, 06:52 PM
A medium-length story...
When I was about 14, I was rather angst-ridden and just generally pissed. One day in school, around Spring actually, I was going to a class. Mind you, this is an all-boys school. The hall hits a narrow and busy section and I'm trying to pass to get to a class downstairs. I'm bumped from both sides and behind and just generally having a bad day. Well, I bump into a guy in front of me--a Senior. He stops and basically looks behind him and spots me--the little Freshman--with an armful of books. I pass by him, not taking note. He comes up from behind me and knocks the textbooks out of my hands. The first thing I do is remember how pissed I am. The second thing is turn on my heel and reverse direction; I got in his face and took up a fighting stance. He's really surprised--the little Freshman isn't supposed to first turn the tables and then become the aggressor.
It was only embarrassing because I was the center of attention.\
06-03-2010, 06:58 AM
So many possibilities!!!
I am really easily embarassed and I've probably mentally blocked out the worst ones.
Probably something involving swimming during phys ed at primary school...
06-03-2010, 12:08 PM
I don't really get embarrassed.
What time zone are you currently in?

06-03-2010, 01:15 PM
A Chicken Salad Sandwich (made with mashed avocado instead of mayo) on whole wheat with wheatberries and this Italian soft cheese I don't know the name of but can identify by the rind, with Strawberries Romanoff and an ice cold diet coke.
Do you like to stay in hotels? Why or why not?
06-03-2010, 01:59 PM
No, I cant ever fall asleep in them, and I travel a lot for work.
Where was the best sleep you have ever had ?
06-03-2010, 02:05 PM
hmm probably at my grandparents' house
Do you have trouble sleeping with other people in the room? Why or why not?
06-03-2010, 02:45 PM
Yes, paranoia/control freakishness. I cant ever get comfortable enough in a room with others to fall asleep. If its someone I trust/love then I just lose track of time watching them sleep (creepy huh)
06-03-2010, 02:47 PM
Yes, I don't trust other people, and when they're sharing the bed, I just can't get comfortable. I don't like to be touched or to touch, so I'm wary of moving around and making contact with them, as I'm not one to stay in one position all night.
What is your favorite part of the world?
06-03-2010, 02:52 PM
Have not travelled enough to know....but I just visited Michigan, and I loved it in ann arbor, its was like something out of a windows wall paper. Being from NYC area makes me like the outdoors.

06-04-2010, 05:21 AM
did you dream of having superpowers (or be a super hero) when you were a kid?
06-04-2010, 05:22 AM
Nope. I figured being a brainiac was curse enough.
06-04-2010, 05:25 AM
You know, the funny thing, my two favorite superhero franchises were Superman and X-Men. While I as playing X-Men games, yes, I pretended I had superpowers; I could read minds and control the weather. While I was playing Superman games, nope, I was always pretending I was being rescued. I sort of prided myself in the fact that I never EVER bought into the Cinderella story, but I took to the Lois Lane story like a fish to water.
Are people's first impressions of you generally correct? What do they routinely get wrong, if anything?
06-04-2010, 05:27 AM
yes. i was determined to be spiderman, made a deal to get my grades up if my mom helped me make the spidey suit
edit- snaked mass question:
no, the first impression of me is usually arrogance because i talk very little, only about stuff i know well so i come off as condescending. i've been told more than once "you're not at all like i thought you were" :irked: even sitting quietly doesn't fix that.
do you ever do random anonomous good deeds?
06-04-2010, 05:27 AM
All the time.
06-04-2010, 07:38 AM

06-04-2010, 08:13 AM
sometimes, but not really planned, just when theres an opportunity and I think "why not"
06-04-2010, 08:43 AM
(do you ever do random anonomuos good deeds?)
06-04-2010, 09:49 AM
06-04-2010, 10:33 AM
yes. when i'm at lowes or home depot, i look for the old guy trying to get plywood into his truck by himself. my action is not random, but the guy in the parking lot thinks it is.
if you made yourself give an answer, who is the closest thing to a hero you have?
06-04-2010, 10:35 AM

06-04-2010, 01:41 PM
I'm sure it happened once or twice as a kid. I've been swimming since I was 3.
What are your thoughts on trampolines?
06-04-2010, 01:50 PM
They're fun, but I used to get headaches from jumping on them too much, so I stay away from them now. I don't particularly miss them.
If you could (or had to) go on television for an interview, which reporter or talk show host would you choose?
06-04-2010, 02:36 PM

06-04-2010, 03:23 PM
Who would you like to call bullshit on ?
06-04-2010, 03:25 PM
Do you play any card games? (ie: 5-card Poker, Hold'em, Blackjack, etc.)
06-05-2010, 10:50 AM
What game are you good at, but secretly (or outwardly) hate playing?
06-05-2010, 02:37 PM
A while back, Canasta. I somewhat forgot how to play it though. I could catch on and kick ass quite quickly again.
Do you put syrup on your pancakes/ waffles? If so, fav kind?
06-05-2010, 03:23 PM
Yes to both. And pure Vermont or Canadian maple syrup. It's much better; nowhere near as sweet and retains its flavor even when "soaked in".
06-05-2010, 03:27 PM
any maple syrup will do.
what do you call soft drinks, (pop, soda, coke, etc) and do you have a favorite?

06-05-2010, 04:29 PM
Are you the jealous type?
06-05-2010, 04:37 PM
In romantic relationships yes. In friendships somewhat.
06-05-2010, 04:41 PM
I can be at times but usually reason the jealousy out.
06-05-2010, 06:10 PM
At times, but it's just not rational to remain that way. Thorough thought diffuses it for me.
Does anyone make you nervous to be around them?
06-05-2010, 06:13 PM
06-05-2010, 06:25 PM
On edge more than nervous, yes.
06-05-2010, 06:29 PM
06-05-2010, 06:30 PM
Yes! And sometimes, nervous is good!
06-05-2010, 06:42 PM
(Does anyone make you nervous to be around them?)
06-05-2010, 06:54 PM
not in a while
when was the last time your mouth got too far ahead of your thinking?
06-06-2010, 08:31 AM
It happens quite often: although I feel like sharing thoughts with people I like, I know not everything that goes in my mind can be discussed - when I go on with the question they're usually gaped or ask me to explain on and on... so I usually get in trouble with that...
What kind os sitution makes you nervous?
06-06-2010, 09:19 AM
Public speaking makes me nervous the first 30 seconds although nervous energy can be good.
What is your most memorable moment?
06-06-2010, 09:59 AM
The moment when I first stepped in the school - where I had studied English years before - as a teacher. The murals said "Welcome back" 'cause it was the beginning of the term... It was such a powerful moment that I've almost cried.
06-06-2010, 12:10 PM
Most memorable? Well, one of them was falling off a skiing path and getting darn close to breaking or dislocating my shoulder. Long story short, my father in his infinite wisdom didn't get the skis sharpened or the bindings set properly. So, I'm skiing on the first trip of the year and the day's wearing on. Towards the end of the day, I go on a pass that cuts from (looking down) the right side to the left side. I'm going around and apparently my ski catches on the top lip and pops off because the bindings were too loose. I go over the top as my right ski goes out of control. Luckily, I had a helmet and a few layers of clothing; I landed on my left shoulder and slid down about 20-30 yards of unfinished slop.
06-07-2010, 05:30 PM
when my first son was born. the snow was blowing sideways
what do you want to be remembered for?
06-07-2010, 05:47 PM
Starting a revolution.
INTJ's only: Do you want to be a parent? Not just the biological mother or father; do you want to raise a child or children?
Non-INTJ's: What is the color of the sky?
06-07-2010, 06:08 PM
parenting is a good way to humble yourself
*sorry, i'm not much for playing by the rules :p*
06-07-2010, 07:59 PM
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
What is the hardest thing you have ever had to do?
06-08-2010, 08:42 PM
Ask someone out to prom directly. Yes, I was a socially awkward nerd; I wanted to do one million things beyond that incredibly harrowing event (as well as the consequences from such an event).
06-08-2010, 09:14 PM
Cutting off people who were close to me.

06-09-2010, 08:01 AM
the holy grail, i never tire of it :)
would a movie of your life be a comedy, a thriller, a drama, a documentary, or something else?
06-09-2010, 08:07 AM
drama. i shy away from something as strong as 'tragedy'. it just wouldn't be a very happy drama.
06-09-2010, 08:29 AM
a documentary about documentaries.
if youknew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?
06-09-2010, 08:33 AM
increase my life insurance
probably commit suicide, after i have lots of sex and do lots of drugs. maybe i'd rob a bank and bury the money, and send a letter to my mother that won't arrive for three years detailing where the money is located.
if you had to guess where buried treasure might be in your yard, where would you say it likely was?
06-09-2010, 08:39 AM
ha, very clever.
*moves treasure to another place in yard*
06-09-2010, 08:44 AM
since my "yard" is a parking lot, I'd say over by the dumpster.
What does your avatar mean or tell us about you?
06-09-2010, 08:47 AM
social misfit determined to pull off the i'm ok, i fit in here thingy
06-09-2010, 08:50 AM
Invader Zim is awesome
06-09-2010, 08:52 AM
When I started posting online seriously, I was having a debate with someone, and pretty much squished them, and they said that they'd adopt my view "when pigs fly." So, I got this avatar and use it most places.
people should smile more often, i guess.
do you hate anybody?
06-09-2010, 08:55 AM
no. i couldn't list 5 people that i seriously dislike.
06-09-2010, 09:05 AM
Not at the moment.
no, but there are a couple of people i'd rather not have encountered in my life.
do you think there is any thing wrong with you? any fundamental flaws, psychological disorders, etc.
06-09-2010, 10:40 AM
Silly mild OCD about counting things and walking on certain bits of pavement a certain amount of times... but it's not anything that gets in the way of the rest of my life and it's nothing major.
06-09-2010, 10:42 AM
typical INTP stuff, way too much time in my head, not enough effort to make things happen; nagging insecurity vs occasional narcissism
various insecurities, inability to cope with intense emotions well, and wavering self-confidence.
do you have a favorite comedian?
06-09-2010, 11:06 AM
Yes, Dane Cook.
If you got to choose any job you wanted, what would it be and why?

06-09-2010, 11:19 AM

THe lowest/worst job you have every done for money.
i've only had one job, and it wasn't all that bad.
06-09-2010, 11:35 AM
Lowest: Bus boy for a local grease joint. They had an "all you can eat fish night" on Wednesdays.. My restaurant was in the middle of old/cheap central, and that was by far the busiest night of the week.
Worst: Worked as a programmer for a sales guy who thought programmers were magicians who could just make anything happen. I once moved a data set from a Wang 2200 system to a Xenix system, when the two had no compatible media. I used the parallel port on the back of the terminals through a parallel/serial converter, and read data directly from the port of the Xenix box, and hacked their report writer to just give me data. Literally pulled a rabbit out of a needle.
His response? "What took you so long?" He was serious. Yeah.
06-09-2010, 03:05 PM

06-09-2010, 03:46 PM
the ride mechanic with the bloodshot eyes
the thought of flying off of a roller coaster at its highest point. i like them, though.
06-09-2010, 04:56 PM
Never went to an amusement park~
06-10-2010, 01:02 PM
The crowds and whining children.

As little as possible.

06-11-2010, 04:15 PM
06-11-2010, 04:16 PM
As much as possible. Mechanics only touch my vehicles for things I am unable to do efficiently like alignments and changing tires.

Produce a hand-drawn, feature-length film, each cell meticulously sketched, inked and painted by me, each part voiced, recorded and edited by me, each song carefully selected by me, the only person who knows EXACTLY what I want. And you know what? I'm not even sure I would make any attempt to go public with it.
06-11-2010, 10:37 PM
Do I have to feed them all, or are they self sustaining? I (we) would go into the rapid prototyping / manufacturing biz and corner the market.

My brother, but I love both my aunts, my uncle and all 9 of my cousins very much.
When was the last time you panicked, and over what?
06-12-2010, 07:20 PM
This morning in a dream. I found myself in the wrong testing center taking an important test that I had no idea about the subject. All I knew is that I had to pass it.
When was the last time someone told you that they love you and you really felt it inside? Who?
hmm... my mother, when i went to her house to get my things after breaking up with my ex. she never says it, so it was surprising.
