Oh yes, I know she does. She thinks I'm a bitch because I told her off about being a backstabbing person who cannot handle direct communication. I gave her 4 concrete examples of instances of her behavior. She couldn't rationally respond and took, instead, to calling me names and telling me to "stay the fuck out of [her] life".

Which philosophy has influenced you the most, and what are your objections to it, if any?

hutbug
05-09-2010, 10:36 PM
Probably Buddhism. I'm no expert, tho. Ram Dass's writings have helped me the most, and he's not strictly buddhist. My one objection to it is the sexism existant in the early years...Buddha himself took a long time to come to declare that women needed the same soul nourishment as men, and then of course the monks came up with all kinds of stupid shit about how a woman monk could never be as 'high in the hierarchy' as the lowliest male newcomer, etc.

Existentialism - I also believe in everythingness, which is rather opposed to the existentialist's nothingness, but it doesn't cancel anything out for me.

what was your last nightmare?

Fyrnae
05-17-2010, 01:45 AM
Saturday night, I dreamt that WayWatcher was tickling my feet & wouldn't stop. Then in the dream I had to hurt him to make him stop and he still wouldn't. May not seem like much of a nightmare, but it was pure distressing torture. Turns out it was my brain attempting to make sense out of the fact that the bottioms of my feet were tingling in reality. Man that was wierd. It was so vivid & real.

themuzicman

i don't generally remember them, probably because they don't make sense. The last one I can remember having was being on a roller coaster inside of a large, fairly narrow cylindrical structure that was somehow in the basement of my house (at the time), and being unable to get off.

I do get the paralyzed nightmare, but I never remember what I'm trying to get away from.

I've started to try to palliate this, as I find that I cannot take a joke or speak in a manner that makes people comfortable if I'm so "arrogant" and distant, completely unwilling to give myself any quarter concerning myself and what I do (everything is so controlled/overly ambtious and I've observed how stilted and annoying that is for me)....
