My favorite thing about women is that they are women.
01-21-2010, 11:13 AM
I like that men tend to be more rational and practical than women.
I'll keep it going- same question!
01-22-2010, 06:44 AM
I like that they offer a different, more "delicate", side that men simply cannot seem to have. I also like the fact that 99% of them are starkly different than me.
01-23-2010, 12:55 AM
I'm asexual and not romantic.
Same question... because I couldn't think of a good one.

01-27-2010, 11:20 AM
No, I would be Ares, the god of war, and kill athena, my rival.

01-27-2010, 07:09 PM
I don't foresee returning to anywhere in Syria anytime soon (although Damascus is lovely.) And I think I probably will have to go back at some point, but if I never set foot in Orlando again, super.

I can tell you that I WILL regret not telling him how I feel...
Do you think regret is useful?
01-28-2010, 12:21 AM
It can be if it helps you not to make the same mistake again, but it can also control your life and make you clutch the past so tightly to your chest that you leave your arms too full to embrace the present. So its kind of one of those things that aren't fully good or bad but depend on the context...
Have you ever been surprised by someone who you thought you knew fairly well and thought you had figured out, but turned out to be a lot different then you thought?
01-28-2010, 12:29 AM
Yes, and it is extremely unsettling. This has happened once or twice in my life thus far, and it makes me question everything - all assertions and/or assumptions I've ever made about anyone. I feel that if I was wrong about that person, I must not understand things as well as I think I do. I recover by finding out what information I missed and figuring out how I missed it ... but yes, its unnerving.

01-28-2010, 12:08 PM
Who am vexed? ... I have a problem with propositions, let us leave it at that.
01-28-2010, 12:09 PM
I have had a friend (an INTJ, no less!) openly criticize me (in a very loving way, I'm sure) for starting sentences with conjuctions. Because I do that from time to time. And definitely consider it a style issue.
Whne was the last time you were angry enough to yell at someone, and why?
01-28-2010, 12:10 PM
Commas, I use, too many, of them. And prepositions at the end of sentences, something up with which I shall not put.

If you could live in another era, when would it be? (past or future)
01-28-2010, 01:54 PM
If you could live in another era, when would it be? (past or future)
I would ideally have been born in 1912. Would have been 12 when Rhapsody in Blue premiered, 15 when Lindy flew across the Atlantic, 26 when Benny Goodman first played Carnegie Hall, could have gone to an actual speakeasy, enjoyed the birth of jazz, lived through both World Wars and driven beautiful cars. Wouldn't have known the meaning of the term "planned obsolescence". Everyone wrote with a fountain pen. Baseball was still mostly a game; the grass was real. You could smoke anywhere. The women were much more stylish back then, too.
the early-to-mid 19th century. i'm not sure i would like the future.
what was the last thing you drank?

when did you discover your MBTI type?
01-30-2010, 04:00 PM

the moment of my realization is currently pending.
do you consider yourself to have an 'above average' level of intelligence?
01-30-2010, 04:23 PM
Yes, and my IQ's tested (for you users obsessed with test scores and IQ) at 145.
Being kinda narcissistic (which for I frequently joke about, see above post), I could go on forever about my numerous academic awards, my "prodigal" nature, solving incredibly difficult whatever faster than the average bear, etc. I don't care about that, though, relative to everything else, even as I pretend that such a thing is all that matters.
What are your thoughts on abortion?
i am pro-choice, but not pro-stupidity. people should practice safe sex if they don't want kids. it is not a birth control method. people don't (or shouldn't) want an abortion in the way they want a new car or an ice-cold beer; they want it in the way that an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw its own leg off to escape.
01-30-2010, 06:03 PM
Pro-choice, which also includes choosing to keep the baby or put it up for adoption. And like dru7170 said, I also think it shouldn't be used as a birth control method and people should practice safe and responsible sex. However, I'm really not keen at all on late-term abortions.
01-30-2010, 08:25 PM
Thoughts on "Don't ask, don't tell"?
applicable in cases where i know i probably wouldn't want to know the answer anyway.
