i thought it would allow me to make a good living...then the market bottomed out!
Why are you considering law?

more artistic ones, also criminal profiling (my undergrad. is geared towards the latter) - law shows analytical and problem solving ability, so it has pretty broad applicability

I'd probably like to be at the beach from 10 am to around 5 or 6, reading, walking along the shore, swimming, eating, talking, etc... then dinner, music and (intelligent) conversation, with perhaps a few board games thrown in. *sigh* I'm so ready for summer (and I'm also feeling really lazy, lol)

The books that come to mind immediatly are
On the emotional front it would be ~ The heart is an involuntary muscle - by Monique Proulx.. there are passages that resonated deeply and reflected who i was at that time and who i wanted to be once the storm was weathered. Whether i read it because of where i was or if it was serendipitous timing the result was the same..The book gave me direction by allowing me to analyze emotions very close to my own and be detached enough to find teh solution/direction i needed.. I became omnidimensional again..
I am starting to read Anais Nin and its not the actual plot lines and such it is her phrasing that some time stop me in my tracks and require thought... whether it be
"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."
that inspire in simplicity and truth or provoke thought like
"Truth is something which can't be told in a few words. Those who simplify the universe only reduce the expansion of its meaning."

Finances? Whats that? my concept of finances is to spend as little as possible. Then occasionally check the bank and see what the amount is. Then if theres enough, go buy a new toy. This month is looking like a Springfield XD 9mm.
Do you believe there is a concept of 'too much firepower' when it comes to personal protection? More specifically, what do you think would be 'too much'.
Harmony
03-19-2009, 04:16 PM
Nope, as long as the person knows how to use it, and keeps it in safe places (places children won't get into it) I don't think there is too much...... Unless you are keeping nuclear weapons in your house.... :suspicious:
What would be your weapon of choice for protection?
ClydeB
03-19-2009, 04:21 PM
Weapon of choice? Depends on the situation. For the average situation I am thinking about that 9mm, along with civilian body armor and a concealed carry license. (love the Indiana lifetime thing...) For home protection? I would love to put in some active automated defenses, but those are illegal for civilians. Such a shame too.

Oh, theres all sorts of things. But one I always envisioned was a CS gas dump in the house once I saw intruders over the home closed circuit system. Not sure how much cleanup that would need. But, the reality is it would be a battery / cellphone backed monitoring system that would alert me via the internet or cell, then I would call the police.

I was in this theater-like place and people there were trying to kill me. They kept bombarding me with these bludger-like things (and this was before I'd even heard of Harry Potter, so there's no relation there) and shooting flames at me. Near the end, I was flattened on the ground at one point, and was trying to access an internal power. Finally, I was able to summon it and wield it to destroy everything and everyone that was trying to kill me. The bludger-like balls burst into gold dust and fireworks.
There was also another one in which I was stealing this large emerald or colored diamond at this function in broad daylight at a lodge type of place. When "they" came after me while still there, I jumped from the porch/balcony and flew. I flew over fields and mountains and rivers. It was amazing and felt so free.

To be completely honest, I think I have a mild fear that I'll never want to settle down. I tried it once and all I felt was suffocation...
EDIT: Who am I kidding... It's not mild. :p
What was the last thing to make you laugh ?

An email from bf mocking me for a story i told about being carried away fireman style after throwing up in the arctic ocean... in my defense it was a loaded game of "i never"

Nope, need to constantly remind myself that i can carry some pretty big responsibilities so i must be, but dont feel it at all...I am more then comfortable to remain immature in some areas...liek my sense of humour, i dont think i can divest myself of my day to day goofiness...
What is your biggest regret to date..
