I hate going to hospitals. So glad my one and only surgery I've ever had was outpatient.

Are you happy with your job (if you have one!)?

Wapiti
02-12-2009, 07:37 AM
NO!!!!!

It could be worse though, much worse so I'll stick it out a bit longer. (Having a little problem with motivation lately and other stuff.)

Currently, yes... Only time will tell if it stays that way. They just restructured my position to be under a different boss.

Blue. Denim is my friend.

What was your first pet called?

Harmony

Tasha - a big fluffy Samoyed. :)

How often do you check your personal email?

Wapiti
02-12-2009, 08:29 AM
Personal email gets checked several times througout the day.

Do you check your personal email more than your work email?

Harmony
02-12-2009, 08:33 AM
No, I actually do the opposite... I'm really bad about checking my personal email... Most people just text me or IM me if they need to let me know something.

Do you like your middle name?

Wapiti
02-12-2009, 08:35 AM
Yes, I think I like it better than my first.

Do you know the exact amount of money to the penny in your bank account(s)?

Harmony
02-12-2009, 08:37 AM
No... The bank is aggravating me.... I have what I estimate I should have in there (I never figure in my interest, gives me a bit of a cushion if I'm ever in a tight spot) and the bank seems to think I have like $300 more than what I do..... I'm just waiting on them to fix an error and yank it out...

You ?

Wapiti
02-12-2009, 08:42 AM
Nope.

Do you drive an automatic or a stick shift?

Harmony
02-12-2009, 08:44 AM
Stick shift, only ever owned one automatic and I hated it!

Do you ever chew gum ?

Wapiti
02-12-2009, 08:48 AM
Once in a great while.

Do you eat at your desk at work?

Harmony
02-12-2009, 08:50 AM
All the time... In fact... If it weren't so close to lunch I'd whip out one of my 100 Calorie packs now... I have an entire drawer full of them. :embarassed:

Do people that put their phone on speakerphone in a public setting annoy you?

Wapiti
02-12-2009, 08:55 AM
I haven't seen that happen much but depending on the setting, I would likely have some fun with it. Make noises and comments and such.

Whats the last stupid thing you said to someone that you wish you could take back?

Rudy
02-12-2009, 09:37 AM
I told my mother that I wasn't busy last weekend, so she conscripted me into coming to help take down Christmas decorations...

What was the last thing that made you cry?

Harmony
02-12-2009, 10:50 AM
I got kind of teary eyed when they were talking about Randy Pausch on Oprah ( mom was watching it )... And he had an incredible "Last Lecture." Very inspiring man with one helluva story.

What was the last thing that made you mad?

WyohKnott
02-12-2009, 03:13 PM
Someone was getting a little overly friendly with me, and was invading my personal space (to put it delicately). I taught him a lesson, though, so it's all good.

Do you like classical music? If so, who is your favorite composer?

aok
02-12-2009, 03:36 PM
Sometimes. Bach.

What percentage of your waking state do you spend being irritable?

WyohKnott
02-12-2009, 03:42 PM
Depends on the time of the month :p Probably 3-5%; I'm generally a pretty cheerful person.

If you could spend next week anyplace in the world (assuming you had time off from work/school, and had no other obligations, or financial constraints), where would you go?

aok
02-12-2009, 03:48 PM
Maybe Burlington, Vermont or Vancouver.

If you could sleep whenever and however long you wanted at will, how long would you sleep, on a daily-base average?

WyohKnott
02-12-2009, 03:54 PM
About 7-8 hours... any more, and I don't feel fully awake when I do get up.

You?

aok
02-12-2009, 04:04 PM
Probably about the same. Although, sometimes I'd like to sleep for 24 hours then be up for 2 to 4 days. Unfortunately, I seem unable to sleep longer than 8 hours- which can be hard enough for me to achieve.

Is there anything of interest to watch on T.V. at this current moment, if so, what is it?

WyohKnott
02-12-2009, 04:45 PM
I've heard that Two and a Half Men is funny, but I wouldn't know; I don't watch TV.

loosefanbelt
02-13-2009, 01:02 AM
None... Really sporadic.

Are you high?

aok
02-13-2009, 04:53 AM
NO/YES. I'm not high on any drug or life. I am on the second floor of a building - which can make me relatively high.

Why do you think that introverts tend to have a higher rate of diagnosable mental disturbances? If you don't think this is the case, how and why are those findings perpetuated?

loosefanbelt
02-13-2009, 05:08 AM
Isolation is not good for any "pack animal" including humans. Even if it is a small group of 1 or 2 others on an infrequent basis, being with loving people is important. If an introvert is also an idealist or a visionary... it can be tough. You see what can be and have a struggle manifesting lots of cultural energy toward change.

You?

sagewolf
02-13-2009, 05:46 AM
Because introverts spend too much time in their own heads. Is don't spend enough time in the real world and so their perception of it is skewed. (Essentially, I agree with you but I will say something different anyway!)

Do you play video games-- and what was the first one you ever played, if so?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 06:31 AM
Of course, not as much anymore though, real life keeps getting in the way! My first ever was Pong... And then Frogger....

Do you think Friday the 13th is just another day? :p

What is your "lucky" number?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 06:36 AM

You?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 06:36 AM
7! It's my birthday, my softball/baseball number :)

Do you like the Friday the 13th movies?

Nikita
02-13-2009, 06:39 AM
too cheesy, but fun if you're in the right mood

Are you afraid of any movie characters? If so, which one(s)?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 06:46 AM
Ha! Yes! I knew there was one.. I was trying to remember what it was... It's the Chucky doll... I hate that movie because it just creeps me out seeing a little doll running around killing things and when he talks he has the voice of an adult. :p

How do you plan on spending Valentine's Day?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 06:47 AM
Hunting, preferably alone. Oh, then maybe a motorcycle ride, alone again.

You?

Nikita
02-13-2009, 06:48 AM
it's a friend's birthday, so i'm going to a brunch thing for her, but otherwise i'll probably just be chatting online and making preparations for next month!

Describe your most memorable VDay. :p

Harmony
02-13-2009, 06:51 AM
It wasn't a good one... I had been sick all week... Strep Throat on top of the flu... I swore to my boyfriend I was feeling better... We went to dinner... I threw up in the bathroom...twice... On the way home, I threw up (he had to pull over)...twice... We get back to his place, I go to bed, he goes out and buys me vitamin C and Sprite... And I slept the rest of the night...

You?

naughtysnail
02-13-2009, 06:59 AM
Hmmm. Also not good. Well, it turned out to be good. Most memorable VDay was when I started at my job, three years ago, thinking I was going to be working for a very large, professional company ... when in fact I work for a grumpy introvert in the office in her dining room. Still, it was the first step out of my First Bad Year when I moved to North Wales, and everything got strangely much much better from the moment I wrote my own contract of employment.

How will you be spending your weekend?

Nikita
02-13-2009, 07:01 AM
brainstorming a packing list, friend's birthday celebration, making preparations

You?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 07:07 AM
Hunting, motorcycle riding and hopefully skydiving weather permitting.

Do you think you are better off now than you were 6 months ago in any way, financially, mentally, whatever? Which way if any?

Nikita
02-13-2009, 07:10 AM
all of the above

What is most important to you in a relationship?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 07:14 AM
Space... That may sound bad, but if I feel smothered all the time I get the fight or flight syndrome. :(

What is your longest relationship?

Josephine1012
02-13-2009, 07:24 AM
4+ years. it was my first one, had I met the guy today, I doubt we would have even had a single date...

What was the best date you've ever had?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 07:27 AM
A couple of friends were insistent that I had to meet this guy. So I went to a party, and at first I was a little leery... But I guess my friends knew me better than I thought. Me and the guy hit it off. He took me out that weekend. We went to a nice dinner and after wards he drove me down to our river front area, where his family had a spot of land with a dock and we sat on the dock and talked all night.

What was the worst date you've ever had?

Josephine1012
02-13-2009, 07:30 AM
Frankly, I don't date, in a conventional sense. I go out with people I know well and I know I already really like. So even a disaster of a date ends up being fun. My first date with my ex, he took me to see a fun movie (HOSTEL!), his car broke down and he managed to lose his cell phone in the movie theater and leave his license at the bar... That didn't faze me, but looking back someone was trying to tell me something..

What about you?

loosefanbelt
02-13-2009, 07:52 AM
A friend of my mother's nephew was in town. They set this up. I wasn't happy about it. He came to pick me up in a hearse (that was okay, but it was a beater) and my door hardly latched shut (It did come open a fel times when he turned a corner). Then, as we were about 5 minutes into driving, I asked what we were doing and he said "BOWLING" - I had on flip flops. So, when I pointed this out to him, he shrugged. I sat and watched him bowl. He made gestures at the end that he wanted a kiss, but I was pretty turned off by the whole thing. Never let your mother & her friends in the dating scene.

YOU?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 07:53 AM
Hmm... It was probably way back in middle school when I was a shallow brat... A couple of my friends were dating these two guys that were really cute... And they had me come out with them one night, and their boyfriends brought a guy out as well... The guy was a total jerk on top of not being attractive in the least (could have been his attitude that made me perceive him this way to be honest...). I was miserable and hated every minute of it. :p

What time do you get up if you don't have anything to do that day?

As early as possible. I love the morning sun. 7-8 AM without an alarm clock, although I get up even earlier if I'm not afflicted with prolonged stress.

How did you come to envision your life's ambition?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 08:12 AM
It was actually in the fact that I was an only child. I was constantly picked on and called spoiled... It just got really old, and I became hell bent to prove to everyone that I could do just fine on my own. And ever since then, most people don't even realize I'm an only child until I tell them, and anyone that used to call me spoiled now knows better. I am fiercely independent, determined, and certainly capable. :)

At what age did you learn what you wanted to do with your life?

Josephine1012
02-13-2009, 08:13 AM
My life's ambition is to be a student. I want to learn and try everything. I like to know how things work and I like to explain it to those who want to know more about it. I have no interest in comandeering anything... Which makes my life's ambition more of self-fulfillment rather than seriously effecting the world around me. I believe this is something I've always known, it became crystal clear to me as soon as I left college. I only get enjoyment out of a job where my learning is constant and I don't have to manage other people.

Learning what to do with my life: I still don't fully know the answer to that question, it is something that evolves constantly. i don't believe there was ever a time where I even thought I knew the answer to that question.

What is your life's ambition?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 08:21 AM
I really want to be a counselor. However, I don't want to leave my current employer because of the free tuition benefit. It makes my desire to learn anything and everything I ever wanted to know about very easy. So, I think what I might do is get my Bachelors in Sociology, then probably Masters and take on either counseling here, or just do it on the side in the evenings.

Do you believe in love at first site?

Josephine1012
02-13-2009, 08:24 AM
Do you believe in love at first site?

Nah, you can't love someone you don't know. It's a myth, at least to anyone who needs more than just a physical connection. Lust at first sight is entirely different and totally possible.

What about you?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 08:30 AM
Nah, I'm pretty sure everything I've thought was love was in fact just lust... But I think love at first site is just silly... (Hmm, super geek keep using site instead of sight)

What type of person are you attracted to?

Josephine1012
02-13-2009, 08:36 AM
I dislike conceit, especially the kind that has no reasonable backing. So I like a person who knows who they are enough not to need to prove themselves. I'm also a sucker for a intelligence and sense of humor. And big hands, LOL.
You would think i ask for very little, but these people are actually really hard to find.

i keep stealing your questions.. What about you?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 08:42 AM
I'm really not that picky, I think it comes from my diverse interests.. The only trait I won't budge on is a sense of humor. I come from a family full of smart asses and someone has to realize that if we aren't picking on you, there is a problem. :p I've fallen for geeks, athletes, and goof balls in the past. And every single one of them had different qualities I liked.

What was your last great accomplishment?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 08:52 AM
Beating a guy at work repeatedly at ping pong. He took me out in the tournament and I can be him repeatedly now. I want a re- match.

Do you know what you're having for lunch? If so, what, where are you going to eat it?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 08:56 AM
My current supervisor and another coworker are taking me out to lunch. It's my last day working for him. So my coworker decided to arrange a lunch for us before I go over to the "dark side." We'll be going to a place called Wolf's Barbecue. They do a lunch buffet. :)

What is in store for you at lunch?

Josephine1012
02-13-2009, 08:59 AM
Sigh, a grilled chicken salad. My friend signed me up for a competition in May (because she does things like that), and I'm trying to get myself back into shape... I do fall off the waggon quite often.

What's your favorite food?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 09:05 AM
T-bone, Ribeye, potato, bacon, dark chocolate peanut m&m's, onion rings - stuff like that. Though I don't eat much of them anymore it seems.

How do you feel about your boss?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 11:35 AM
I like him. We work well together.... Sigh... Did work well together... They are putting me under someone else Monday. And I don't respect that someone...at...all...

You?

Nikita

she's really laid back, patient, and flexible, she's great!

How do you feel about your coworkers?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 12:08 PM
I like them most of the time. If not for them, this place would truly suck. Worse than it already does that is, it would be unbearable I think without them. Don't tell them that though.

Would you quit a job you loved if you couldn't stand your co-workers?

Nikita
02-13-2009, 12:11 PM
depends on the job

You?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 12:16 PM
If I really loved the job, I think I could manage to stay. I would at least try. If it was just an average job with average pay and all, forget it. I'd probably line up another job and move on.

Whats the shortest amount of time you've held a job? Why?

Nikita
02-13-2009, 12:19 PM
hahaha held 2 jobs at once for about a month...they were crappy jobs and i quit them because i found a place to move to in another city

Which job have you had that you have loathed?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 12:31 PM
My current one. The one I've had for far too long. But actually I don't loathe it like I used too, it could be worse. And with the with the economy the way it is now, I'll stick it out a bit. After all, getting played to play ping isn't all that bad.

What's the funniest thing you've heard or seen this week?

Nikita

What was the last green thing you ate?

Josephine1012
02-13-2009, 12:55 PM
salad, for lunch (because I ws being good). then I got chocolate covered raisins... they weren't green, but they were fun.

What's the scariest thing that happened to you this week?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 12:58 PM
Every time the ex IMs me... Always fear what he wants... :scared:

Do you like marshmallows?

rara avis
02-13-2009, 12:58 PM
See previous answer. I had been half asleep when I answered the phone. Once I clued in, I got up and turned on all the lights and checked the closets and made sure the doors were locked. Called my REAL friend to talk to and didn't go back to sleep for a few hours. :p

No, I don't like marshmallows... except in smores and rice krispy treats.

Is there something specific you're looking forward to this weekend?

Wapiti
02-13-2009, 12:58 PM
I ventured out into public to socialize with people I didn't know.

Marshmallows - not really

Looking forward to hunting, skydiving, motorcycle riding.

You?

Josephine1012

I like marshmallows a lot (in fact, i think i should pick some up at the store today :) )

Looking forward to this weekend: Hopefully some snow :p

What do you think your ex wants?

Harmony
02-13-2009, 01:02 PM
To talk... He gets lonely easily, and I'm always on, so he always wants to talk to me... And I just keep waiting for him to ask for... Well... sex again.

And I'm looking forward to relaxing... And being left alone. :)

Does change bother you ?

Josephine1012
02-13-2009, 01:06 PM
I thrive on change, so not at all... (assuming i wasn't attached to whatever it was that changed).

What's the greatest sacrifice you've ever made for a significant other?

ftr, I really hate it when people say, "Trust me." It seems to either mean that they think you don't know what you're talking about, or that you have reason not to trust them in the first place. Ick.

One of the best moments - we were on a farm in Levensworth, WA. It was October. We all slept in this open loft room over the garage there. It was mountainous and rural, the kids were behaving. Horses, chickens, rabbits. Carving pumpkins. Cuddling up to sleep. Exploring. One of the few times with no technology that everyone was not kvetching.

Does work ever just make you want to scream?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 06:48 AM
No, actually. I'm very fortunate in that I work almost completely by myself, doing work that I enjoy (writing software for economics research.) Previous tutoring jobs have certainly given me the desire to scream at/slap my pupils, however. An urge I fortunately supressed.

What topic do you most want to learn more about? (And you can also tell me about how your work makes you want to scream, if you like ;) )

Harmony

Ha! We switched ALL of our systems to something new (now, in your field, you know this is a big no no!)... And our department is suffering because of it... Everyone comes crying to us about it. And we switched to stuff that's very non-user friendly...

And the actual question! I really want to learn more about architecture... I thought I wanted to major in it, but I learned I don't want to do it for a living, just have knowledge about it. :)

Rudy
02-16-2009, 07:09 AM
My sympathies on the system switching...

I want to learn more about chemistry/biology. I already know much more than the average person, but I would really like to become more of an expert on it, even though it has nothing to do with the work that I would like to do. Part of this probably stems from constantly having to argue with people about the "evidence for evolution." When biologists as a whole tell me something about biology, I trust their expertise, but it would be nice to be able to argue the point more directly.

Have you ever had any medical conditions?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 07:55 AM
Hm. Depends on how you define it. I had "depression" for about a year in high school, but that was the year following my father's death, so I don't think it qualifies as a "condition" so much as a "normal emotional response." I have sinus infections at least once a year, but there's no special name for that... that's about it.

aok
02-16-2009, 08:48 AM
No, but I do have a problem with someone being too illegitimately nice.

Do you ever think there's a point when someone can be too sarcastic?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 08:50 AM
On the niceness question, definitely. I'm an INTJ, aren't I? ;) My best friend is a good example. He is considerate of others, and nice to them, to a ridiculous degree. This leads to two bad consequences that I can think of.

1) He often fails to assert or identify his own needs and desires, as he gets caught up in the well-being of others.

2) Other people think that a certain action or behavior is acceptable to him, when it is not. He just is too nice to say anything. In the long term, this is more damaging to a relationship than simply saying that a certain thing bothers you. It's one of the behaviors I had to break, at least with regards to behaviors of myself, in order to maintain a healthy friendship. He's now quite capable of telling me, at least, when I am annoying him. =D I'm so proud... *wipes tear*

On the sarcasm question, yes again. One can damage relationships for nothing more than some cheap entertainment. I am careful to only use sarcasm when it's with either someone I know won't take it personally, or someone I don't care about my relationship with.

Is there any behavior that cannot be taken too far? Name one, if so.

Harmony
02-16-2009, 08:52 AM
Yes... I can be that way, and it hurts my mom's feelings... So I have to watch it and not push it too far.

I don't think you can take politeness too far...

Do you think intelligence is something that is just natural (you are born with it)?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 08:59 AM
Not just natural, no, though I do think that nature is a very large part of it. I attribute my ability in mathematics, for example, primarily to good genes, but also to childhood nutrition, and to my mother's teaching me basic math skills at a very early age.

Same question.

Harmony
02-16-2009, 09:04 AM

What are you most self-critical about?

What is your heritage/ethnicity?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 12:04 PM
I am, as far as I know, 50% German (hence the name,) 25% Irish, 18.75% English and 6.25% Cherokee Indian. So, good ole fashioned mutt. Never had any ethnic culture or celebrations of any kind taught to me, except those common to the whole United States.

Same question, again. (Sorry, you shouldn't pick interesting questions if you don't want me to repeat them ;) )

I am half English, g-parents came over from county Durham, which made rumors for them being Scott.
Other half is from the former Bohemia.

My one g-mother was one of the youngest of 23 children, can you imagine????

You?

Nikita

Norwegian, Italian, Welsh, Irish, English, and North African of some sort (according to my late grandmother)

How big is your extended immediate family?

loosefanbelt
02-16-2009, 12:09 PM
2 sisters, 1 brother, 1 half-brother, 1 half-sister, 2 nephews, 1 niece, 1 mother (ha! father passed), 3 "adopted" children no longer in my custody due to my husband's passing.

You?

Nikita
02-16-2009, 12:10 PM
in the neighborhood of 80, i think

(by extended immediate i'm including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins)

Same Q.

Rudy
02-16-2009, 12:17 PM
Hmm... let's see. Are we counting the dead? I'll assume not.

One parent
One step-parent
One sister.
Two half-sisters (though I just think of them as sisters)
Three step-brothers.
One spouse of a step-brother.
One child of a step brother.
One grandparent.
12 aunts and uncles (six pairs, that is.)
16 cousins.
8 spouses of cousins.
7 children of cousins.

You can count whichever ones you like =D

Who's your favorite relative outside of your nuclear (father, mother, siblings) family, and why?

loosefanbelt
02-16-2009, 12:20 PM
I adore my niece and 2 nephews. YOU?

Harmony
02-16-2009, 12:24 PM
My cousin Brooke... She's only only member of my family aside from my parents that isn't a dunce. :p

Do you like to play devil's advocate?

Nikita
02-16-2009, 12:25 PM
my cousins on my mom's side (6 in particular of the 11) - I just love them, I've bonded with them since they were babies...I was there for one's first steps, and for the first 2 months of another's life...i love them as if they were my own

devil's advocate - sometimes

With what topics do you enjoy playing devil's advocate?

WyohKnott
02-16-2009, 12:25 PM
All the time; it drives most people I know absolutely insane - they never get why I do it. EDIT: I usually do that when I'm trying to make a decision myself, or help someone else to make the decision. Also in the rare religious arguments in which I engage.

Probably my two youngest cousins - they're a lot younger than I, and absolutely adorable :lovestruck:

You?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 12:28 PM
Probably my cousin Meredith. She's awesome in every way. She's about five years my senior, and I had a crush on her before I understood why that was not a good idea =/

I adore playing devil's advocate. I own it on DVD, and pop it in whenever I get the chance. I also like the arguing the opposite point, thing.

I like to play devil's advocate for the side of religion with some of my fellow atheists. I find their arguments for our shared lack of belief sloppy, so I play the opposition to help shore up their defense.

What's your favorite topic to discuss/debate in general?

Nikita
02-16-2009, 12:30 PM
religion

What is your least favorite topic to debate/discuss?

Maayan
02-16-2009, 12:31 PM
Best: Currently MBTI -- and specifically, the eight cognitive processes. Ha!
Worst: Personal interpersonal politics. It's like playing Minesweeper.

You?

Harmony

Religion...

Yours?

WyohKnott
02-16-2009, 12:31 PM
Lol, religion also :p (Least favorite topic, that is)
Best: It can be politics, if there is mutual respect, and at least some agreement on basic questions.

Same question.

Rudy
02-16-2009, 12:36 PM
Favorite is religion ;) (A slightly polarizing topic. What a surprise =D)
Least favorite I will steal from Maayan: people's bad days, or other mundane gossipy annoyances. I don't want to talk about your office politics, or debate over whether you are at fault in some incompressible game of social one-upmanship.

On what topic do you feel the most confident arguing about? This is not necessarily the same as the one you most enjoy arguing about.

loosefanbelt

Best: ethics
Worst: sports

Anyone else?

Nikita
02-16-2009, 12:39 PM
(LEAST favorite for me would be politics - wyohknott's opposite, lol)

confident - humanitarianism

You?

WyohKnott

Confident - Education/what's wrong with American public schools.

Along those lines... who is your favorite teacher of all time, and what made them so good?

Maayan
02-16-2009, 12:54 PM
YES! Awesome question. My Grade 9 Math Teacher, Mr. G. He didn't judge me for my bubbly personality. He'd freak me out by telling me that something was going to be on a test, and then laugh when I'd forget the test date and shrug it off ("Hullo! What are we learning today?" "We're writing a test." "... oh. Well. Okay!"). He indulged my requests for extra homework without blinking an eye. He'd give students mathematical nicknames -- Yuen-ying became Y^2 -- and let me ask as many questions as my heart desired. I got a near-perfect mark, but it meant nothing to me compared to the experience that I got to enjoy.

How could I not pass that question on?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 12:57 PM
My favorite teacher was my 9th Grade Physics teacher. He really drew me into the sciences, where I had been primarily been interested in mathematics and history before. He was a fun, friendly guy who managed to keep us entertained and learning at the same time. A slightly more mature Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Pass it on.

WyohKnott

Probably my 10th grade Chemistry teacher... I think he was probably an INTJ; he explained things very well, but without "dumbing down" the subject. He would teach us about all sorts of real-world applications of the things we were learning, too... oh, and he also liked to set things on fire, too. ;D He was just generally an awesome person, and a great teacher.

Well, the obvious question to follow that one... Worst teacher, and why?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 01:15 PM
My... 15th grade Auction Theory professor. He was one of the professors who obviously only did the teaching because he absolutely had to, and made no attempt at hiding this. He taught as little as he could, didn't take questions, and was never available to clarify anything.

Pass it on.

Nikita
02-16-2009, 01:17 PM
my high school AP Economics teacher - I memorized the book, understood all of the concepts and how they worked together, then I took her tests and she contradicted everything the book said (my only darned B that semester!)...now I remember nothing of economics save basic supply and demand, nor do I care to ever address the topic again

Same question.

Harmony
02-16-2009, 01:24 PM
My Marketing class... The one class I really wanted to learn about... And our instructor didn't want to teach... He just wanted to chat with a few of the guys in the class about football.... All I did was played cards through the whole class...

When was the last time you were really let down by something?

loosefanbelt
02-16-2009, 01:26 PM
Wow - dare I tell?

My friend invited me out to stay at her home with her and her partner, neglecting (on purpose) to tell me that her partner has multiple personalities...

You?

Harmony
02-16-2009, 01:29 PM
I remember that in the vent thread I believe. ;)

Sigh... About five minutes ago... They have made this position that half the college told me to go for way beyond my qualifications....

Do you exercise regularly?

Nikita
02-16-2009, 01:31 PM
pretty much, but my normal routine has been altered for some time due to injuries from a car accident

What is your favorite sport/activity to play?

Rudy
02-16-2009, 01:34 PM
I exercise for 30 minutes a day. So, not a lot, but regularly.

My favorite form of exercise is coincidentally my favorite sport/physical activity: DDR (Dance, Dance Revolution.) If you don't think it counts as exercise, you've never played it on high levels =D

Same question.

Harmony
02-16-2009, 01:36 PM
Baseball... Now if only I hadn't torn my arm up pitching...

Are you an impulse buyer?

Maayan
02-16-2009, 01:39 PM
Bipolar. Either I'll spend money like water or spend months agonizing over a purchase.

Averaging out all of your interpersonal interactions, how much dissonance is there between your projected personality and your actual personality? The extent; not the direction.

(Sorry for changing my question!)
