How many flights of stairs are you willing to take before you opt for the elevator?

Wapiti
01-21-2009, 12:15 PM
Depends on the mood but I want to say 16 for some reason although I'd probably head for the elevator after only going up 6 or so.

What's the last thing you remeber thinking before you fell asleep last night?

Rudy
01-21-2009, 12:16 PM
Sadly enough, I was thinking of new rumors to use on the "Let's Spread Rumors" page.

What's the first thing you thought this morning?

Wapiti
01-21-2009, 12:41 PM
I think the conversation in my head was something like this:
"Just hit the snooze one more time. But why, I'm awake. Cause I just don't want to get out of bed at the moment. But you know you have to. No I don't, shutup. I'll get out in 5 more minutes ok. Whatever, you suck." Then I got up and went to the bathroom.

Do you have a passed, missed opportunity that still haunts you? If so what?

What do you hate most about your parents?

What do you love most about your job?

Rudy
01-21-2009, 02:15 PM
Completely flexible hours.

Who is the person you hate/dislike most in the world?

Nikita
01-21-2009, 04:45 PM
I don't know anyone but myself well enough to engender pure lasting hatred.

You?

rahdam
01-21-2009, 04:52 PM
I dislike people who do not give their best.
I dislike people who are insincere or deceptive.
I hate no one, and in the above cases, it's not even that I dislike the people, but rather particular facets of them. I've found EVERYONE has redeeming qualities, a story, if you get to know them well enough.

When is the last time you went to the dentist?

rahdam
01-21-2009, 05:58 PM
I would go with back as well. It's very strong, but of course, you can always improve everything.

Reganon
01-21-2009, 08:07 PM
Right now- I'm afraid that I'm posting on the wrong page- it says there's 252 pages, but every time I click on it it takes me to page 251... oh well

In general I'm afraid of rejection and failure, even though I know I shouldn't be.

Harmony
01-22-2009, 08:51 AM
My boy crazy side.....

Do you have any sort of physical or mental problems/issues?

Rudy
01-22-2009, 09:07 AM
You mean besides the typical "INTJ" thing, I assume? =D

Hmmm... nothing physical, beyond recurring sinus infections. I'm in good shape, if not athletic. Mentally, I wish I wasn't so romance shy (not shy in other interactions) as I am, and it's definitely a problem I'm trying to work on (none of those, "it's just the way I am" excuses.)

Same question to next answerer.

Harmony
01-22-2009, 09:26 AM
I've got TMJ. Royal pain in my ass when it comes to eating certain things.

What meal can you eat every day and never get sick of?

Rudy
01-22-2009, 09:31 AM
Mmm... fettuccine alfredo.

What is the last food in the world, excluding things you are allergic to, that you would eat? I.e., you would have to be starving, and every other type of food gone before you would eat this. By food, I mean things that are served as food somewhere in the world.

altoid
01-22-2009, 04:12 PM
hmmm... I'm usually not very squeamish about trying new foods, but I would have to say insects.

You?

ClydeB
01-22-2009, 05:16 PM
Honestly? Human flesh.

Ever done anything truly altruistic and see someone else take credit for it?

Rudy
01-22-2009, 05:20 PM
Well, I've collaborated with my sister, to do things for my mother, and agreed to let her take full credit. It was the only way she'd agree to assist at the time. Does that count? Otherwise, no. I've given to charities anonymously, but then no one is getting the credit.

You?

altoid
01-22-2009, 05:22 PM
Not that I recall. If someone did, I apparently didn't care enough about losing the credit to remember it. :p

Ever taken credit for another person's altruistic action?

ClydeB
01-22-2009, 05:25 PM
Cannot say I have.

Ever try to own up to something bad/stupid you did. Only to have those to whom you confess believe you are trying to be altruistic and keep someone else from getting blamed?

Nikita
01-22-2009, 05:30 PM
no, people don't generally assume the best of my character

Have you ever worn braces?

Rudy
01-22-2009, 05:31 PM
Unfortunately, for two years in Grade school.

Same question.

ClydeB
01-22-2009, 05:31 PM
Nope. Wish I had some as a kid though (the tooth kind)

Have any interesting scars?

Rudy
01-22-2009, 05:33 PM
No, but I *do* have no hard cartilage in my nose, so it will completely flatten against my face. That's kinda interesting.

If you could see through the eyes (and other senses) of one historical figure, who would it be?

ClydeB
01-22-2009, 05:35 PM
Cassandra. She could see the future if you buy into the myth. I'd like to find out whats happening in the future. Do not care if no one would believe me about it. ;)

You?

Rudy

How do you feel about rodents?

dalidaisy
01-23-2009, 09:55 AM

air freshener - sometimes - I use oil plug-ins sometimes, too

Do you hand wash dishes or use a dishwasher?

Algol

(DOH!) I wash them by hand.

How many layers of blankets do you use?

Wapiti
01-23-2009, 10:26 AM
Dishwasher whenever possible. Hand wash only a few things.

What is in your trunk?

Algol
01-23-2009, 10:40 AM
Empty box with hand-holes that I use for Costco stuff, various microfiber towels, spare tire, included tool kit, couple of car cleaning sprays, and a refill canister for my A/C refrigerant.

Oh and some silicone grease I use for certain rigid parts that like to squeak...

Yours?

Nikita
01-23-2009, 10:45 AM
emergency kit (with flares, patch, etc.), a full size tire (I don't have a spare, the tire is one I saved after having all 4 replaced because of that, but it's only the tire, it lacks that mechanism that actually attaches to the car, so I'm screwed if I get a flat...plus it doesn't fit in the spare spot so it's just taking up room), a slab of marble, crutches (just in case...), a tripod, BarBri books (from the bar exam), washer fluid, and a stick ball bat (for protection, lol)

Do you have any decorations on your car? (bumper stickers, anything hanging from the rearview, etc.)

Algol
01-23-2009, 10:49 AM

Have you ever driven at a track or autocross event? (even if it's one of those company sponsored "try our cars" type events)

Nikita
01-23-2009, 10:51 AM
No, but it sounds like fun. I'd love to race a car around a track (but I hate Nascar and stuff like that...I just like to drive fast).

(I don't have any decorations on mine either, but it's because I don't want to make myself a target for anything and I think it just looks tacky.)

Which is your favorite foreign country?

dalidaisy

What's your scariest driving story?

dalidaisy
01-23-2009, 02:06 PM
I don't really get scared anymore, but I did have an accident on the autobahn years ago. I wasn't driving very fast, but I hit black ice & started spinning. I hit one guard rail, then another, then another, then another before landing smack dab in the middle of the road with the electric knocked out. The doors were stuck shut, so we had to kick out the windows & crawl out. We could see the lights from other cars coming fast & kew they couldn't see us. We barely got off the road before another car p[lowed straight into my car. The guy didn't get out of his car as he was unconscious, so we went to pull him out. As soon as we pulled him from the car, a big rig hit it & almost took his legs. It was scary as hell... (long story, tho)

You?

Rudy
01-23-2009, 02:07 PM
This one time, I was driving, and my car was moving funny and... I HAD A FLAT TIRE! That's it.

When I was little, I got caught stealing. When a kid misbehaves, Asians tend to blame the parents for bringing up the kid wrong. When I apologized, my parents had to apologize too. I was so ashamed for disgracing my parents like that. I look back on it now and the guilt is still really intense.

Rudy
01-24-2009, 07:44 PM
So far, best: that the people are very easy going, and don't take offense in debate or when poking fun at each other.

least: Hmm... not much so far, maybe the fact that more people aren't playing Story Time! with me. ;) But then, I should give them more than 15 minutes. Really though, it's all pretty great.

Same question, again. (Sorry, it's a good question.)

une fille
01-24-2009, 08:29 PM
Most: General competency, and the feeling that I don't have to try and explain why I'm not an emotionally expressive person. Plus the random non-INTJ input that's customized for an INTJ audience is interesting, such as when discussions concerning social situations come up. It's nice to have another POV.

Least: It's a little unnerving to read some of these posts. I'm not used to so many people having similar personalities to my own. Spooky.

Sandwich joint at the food court at the Smithsonian Air & Space museum I visited in D.C. today.

Ra's al Ghul from Batman Begins because "The training is nothing! The will is everything! The will to Act!" And also: "Criminals thrive on the indulgence of society's understanding." I almost wanted him to win...
And also: "Death does not wait for you to be ready! Death is not considerate, or fair!" and: "Your compassion is a weakness your enemies will not share."
Basically, he had good ends in mind, and was willing to use whatever means necessary. He went a little too far with the whole destroying Gotham, though.

What's the creepiest thing you've witnessed in real life?

rara avis
01-25-2009, 10:41 AM
Vanilla's awesome, it's the most customizable.

The neighborhood year-round Santa-looking grandpa with rainbow suspenders who used to bring little kids into the bookstore where I worked when I was 20. He'd buy them board books. His legal name was Ronald McDonald, and he babysat kids in his neighborhood. Every year he played Santa in the shopping center, but kept his beard year-round.
A few months after the store where I worked closed, he was arrested for child molestation. Mall Santas will never look the same to me.

Have you ever witnessed a significant crime?

Josephine1012

Have you ever witnessed a significant crime?

Sort of, I was almost kidnapped as a child. I also was asked out by a guy who is now in jail for murder.

What are you making for dinner?

Rudy
01-25-2009, 10:45 AM
Nothing beyond shoplifting in a bookstore (who steals comic books?) It was a kid, and I couldn't decide whether to report him to the owner or not. I ended up confronting him, and making him put the stuff back. Hopefully, it put a bit of a scare into him...

I'm going out for Thai tonight. Chicken Panang Curry!

Have you ever intervened in a crime? (Hopefully it's more impressive than my little child-scaring performance.)

rara avis
01-25-2009, 10:56 AM
Working another bookstore, I was robbed... I was not super cooperative, but I didn't really intervene. Not for a few hundred dollars.

I did once go in back and call the police when there was an unbelievably drunk guy in the store selling stolen merchandise and telling me aaaaall about his suspended license (for drunk driving) - he was clearly about to [try] to drive home, and could hardly stand. Tossed out a few drunks/crazies, including an enraged guy who threw books at my coworker... refused to buy merchandize from cracked-out junkie fencers... what else, what else... it was a good job, I learned a thing or two about being a hardass.

If you were going to commit a significant crime (no choice, mind you - you're forced to!) what would it be?

Rudy
01-25-2009, 11:01 AM
No, well, I wouldn't intervene for a few hundred either.

If I had to commit a significant crime, hmm... it depends on what is meant by significant, I suppose. Grand theft, probably, if it's significant enough, but through burglary, not holding anyone up at gunpoint. I'd rather avoid anything that puts others directly at risk. Oh, no! Thought of a better one: I'll burn down the "Creationism Museum" in Kentucky.
