If their harsh life has helped make them needy/loud/uptight/whatever.

Do you think of yourself as gender neutral?

Favorite evil plan you've made?

12-30-2008, 05:33 PM
What is the most difficult decision you've ever made?

It feels like I make the most difficult decision ever, every single day. Somehow huge things that can be life altering and dangerous come very easily to me. The devil is in the details, the tiniest daily decisions are what kills me. I can never finalize a decision unless I truly want to do it, if I do it's a no brainer.

What was the craziest (not fun crazy, "crazy" crazy) thing you have ever done?

Wapiti
12-30-2008, 05:48 PM
I jumped out of a perfectly fine airplane. It was both crazy and crazy fun.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done.

Josephine1012
12-30-2008, 05:54 PM
What is the craziest thing you have ever done.

I'm sure I have plenty of crazy going on in my head at any given time. I try my darnedest not to let it out. My crazy usually starts with bouncing my "crazy" off of sane, with any luck the catastrophe is usually prevented.

On the occasion I did not follow that crazy/sane scheme I ended up with a ruptured spleen.

What's your coping mechanism with "crazy"?

Wapiti
12-30-2008, 06:05 PM
Coping mechanism, not sure I have one. Time seems to help, I just try not to be too impulsive and think things through.

Ruptured spleen? How did that happen?

Josephine1012
12-30-2008, 06:16 PM
Ruptured spleen? How did that happen?

I'm not only nuts, I'm extremely lucky. It was a sub-capsular rupture, meaning 10% of the spleen wall remained intact, so it healed (I probably have a scar) after Russian doctors did their darnedest to try and kill me in the hospital.

It is important to point out, that to this day, I'm very physically fearless (I'm emotionally fearless as long as it's something huge, but totally chicken for the small stuff). I was always that way.

For this specific case: I performed some type of a jump off of my grandma's wardrobe onto her bed (I was 6). I was really good at it too (the first 3 times), but not the 4th :p that's when I found her headboard with my stomach.

What's the dumbest reason you ever got hurt?

Reganon
12-30-2008, 06:21 PM
When I was seven I wanted to see how a razor works. I tried to "shave" my ankle, but pressed too hard and it bled for quite a while. I still have the scar.

You?

Wapiti

I was riding an ATV in the desert, alone, and there was this steep hill and I just knew I could make it so I hit the throttle and went for it. It didn't go so well so I gave it more throttle (a thumb throttle.) I wound up upside down with a broken thumb, the atv rolled down the hill a ways. I hopped back on and did again, luckily I made it this time. I then had to ride about 45 minutes with a busted thumb still working the throttle.

What is the dumbest thing that you were going to do but talked yourself out of?

Josephine1012
12-30-2008, 06:32 PM
What is the dumbest thing that you were going to do but talked yourself out of?

Well.... If something sounds dumb enough and dangerous enough, chance are I'll do it... But almost picked up all my stuff and moved to Austin TX (which is many miles away) without getting a job there first and without any financial backing and without knowing anybody. I also almost moved for a boy to the middle of nowhere, where I could have had a dead end job working for his family

*counting my lucky stars right about now*

When someone ticks you off (in an annoying way, not screw you over way) how long do you avoid contact?

Nikita
12-30-2008, 06:34 PM
That depends on who it is. If it is someone I care about and still want to care about after their error, I'll stay and try to work through it. Otherwise, I won't talk to them for weeks sometimes.

You?

Reganon
12-30-2008, 06:36 PM

Is your best friend same sex as you? If not did you ever cross the line?

What is the most selfless thing you have done. Why did you do it?

Josephine1012
12-30-2008, 07:35 PM
What is the most selfless thing you have done. Why did you do it?

I interviewed for the same job as my ex (on accident), he was dying to get the job. That's all he talked about during the 3 week waiting period, I ended up getting the offer. I turned it down, thinking he was next in line (HE WASN'T). Reasons include: stupidity, guilt, hubris.

would you ever go into a burning building to save a child? What about a grown man? What about a grown man in a wheel chair?

Explain :)

ClydeB
12-30-2008, 07:44 PM
My child yes. grown man or wheelchair bound. No.

Its not something I'm trained to do. I know I would just end up getting us both killed by smoke inhalation. The thought of a child, especially mine, would short circuit any rationality on my part. I don't think I could stop myself from trying.

Do you tell a white lie or the truth when asked the "Does this make my ass look fat" question?

Josephine1012
12-30-2008, 08:01 PM
Do you tell a white lie or the truth when asked the "Does this make my ass look fat" question?

I tell the truth... I even tell the truth about that when I'm not asked. I'm the proverbial bearer of bad news, as long as I think the knowledge might help the person fix their situation. Some people have stopped talking to me as a result of that....

Two choices... The hottest girl/guy ever, not much personality but pleasant company, if you don't go for them now it might never happen

OR

The coolest (most interesting/compatible) girl/guy ever with definitely above average looks, if you don't go for them now they might stick around, but at the same time they may resent you later

Which one do you go for and why?

Nikita
12-30-2008, 08:03 PM
Option 2 - compatibility is much more important than looks.

What is your weirdest pet peeve?

Involuntarily yes.

Do you play practical jokes on people?

Nikita
12-30-2008, 10:05 PM
Yep.

What's the best practical joke you've ever played on someone?

Reganon
12-30-2008, 10:10 PM
I don't know if you'd consider this a practical joke, but this one time at band camp (I really wanted to say that and it just so happens that this did actually happen at band camp) I was rooming with my friend. She is rather neurotic and was especially concerned about my "lack of hygiene." I am perfectly hygienic, it's just that she ordered me to shower (after some comment I made) and I don't take well to orders. So I decided to get some revenge in a very passive way. I pretended not to shower at all just to piss her off, but actually cleansed myself in secret. I told everyone else what I was doing, so while she was screaming at me to shower, she was actually making a fool of herself. Eventually someone told her and she got really mad. I don't know how practical of a joke that is, but then again, I am boringly responsible, so my standards are different...

Are any of your peers/coworkers/acquaintances out to get you?

Franklin71
12-30-2008, 10:12 PM
Yes.

Are you out to get any of your peers/coworkers/acquaintances?

Reganon
12-30-2008, 10:23 PM
Not intentionally. But there's this one girl who I always end up insulting every time we're in the same area. She's really loud and obnoxious (EsFP?) and says the darnedest things. She once asked a teacher if he believed in Zeus.

My sense of self. That's what gives me my indomitable will.

What was the last movie you saw? what was your opinion of it?

Nikita
12-30-2008, 11:07 PM
I just finished watching 30 Days of Night. It started out really slow, but ended up being decent. The vampires were oddly done and kind of goofy, but better than those in Van Helsing. I think it did a good job of showing how different people react to adversity and the extent to which a faulty instinct towards self-preservation trumps community welfare.

What is the last experience you had that made a strong impact on you?

Reganon
12-30-2008, 11:15 PM
Playing in my orchestra's last concert. It was inspiring to say the least. I'll never forget The Chairman Dances

If you had fewer hours in a day what would you give up?

Nikita
12-30-2008, 11:22 PM
I wouldn't, I'd adjust my day so that I get everything fit into the shorter timeline...I already get less sleep than I should.

You?

Reganon
12-30-2008, 11:25 PM
I'd give up sleep first, but when I couldn't handle it I'd give up free time.

Nikita
12-31-2008, 01:43 AM
I don't have any expectations beyond shared or at least complementary goals and being treated a certain way - I don't accept being yelled at, spoken down to, controlled, or derided

You?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 01:45 AM
I know it will be perfect. Beyond that, I have no preconcieved notions.

Have you ever considered that a man you have previously known may *become* your S.O after his own journey of personal growth? Or do you think it more likely it will be someone brand new?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 01:47 AM
it could be either (don't you think that perfection is a high standard?)

How are you defining perfection, and how could anybody possibly measure up to that standard because even you are human and humans make human errors?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 01:49 AM
Perfection in the way in which we interact with each other.
They way we care about each other, and the way we show we care about each other.
The way we play, the way we argue, the way we work together.
It's not an absolute perfection, but a perfection in the details of the relationship.

What imperfections do you forsee with your S.O.?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 01:52 AM
I'm critical enough of what shows up, I don't need to plan things to be picky about...every person is different and I wouldn't presume to foresee his imperfections

You?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 01:53 AM
She'll be perfect in my eyes. This is, after all, my soulmate.

Of what are you most critical in others?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 01:55 AM
it depends on the person...spoken grammar probably bugs me the most when it's done poorly in an obvious way ("who that is" grr)...also driving, I invariably judge people based on how they drive - and I don't like weak hands

You?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 01:57 AM
passive-aggressive behavior.
I cannot stand it. It incenses me.

What is your most positive trait, according to your close friends?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:00 AM
they think i'm one of the nicest people "ever" and that i can do anything

You?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:03 AM
They think I am one of the smartest, strongest, most level-headed people they have ever known, and they know I am there for them.

How do others perceptions of you align with your perception of yourself?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:07 AM
they think I'm nicer than I do...I feel like I make a concerted effort to be nice because I know that my impulses aren't always pointed in that direction...and though I know I've been able to do pretty much anything I've tried to do, that doesn't mean I enjoy all of it - they see more options than I do

Yours?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:09 AM
They align well. My confidence is not as strong as they make it out to be, but my desire masks that.

Describe the worst job you can imagine.

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:12 AM
think office space or wesley's job in Wanted...anything routine and boring and stuck in a cube is pretty much my hell

You?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:14 AM
Repetion would be the death of me. In any form.

Have you ever considered that your soulmate may overlook you?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:15 AM
sure

Have you?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:16 AM
I don't think one's soulmate would overlook his/her other half.

What is your highest priority in life?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:18 AM
(that depends on whether or not they can be mistaken as to who it is...blinded by who they want it to be versus who it actually is)

purpose and fulfilling it

Yours?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:19 AM
Touch the lives of as many people as I can.

Rephrase: What is your highest purpose in life?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:22 AM
save as many lives as possible

If you could choose 5 superpowers to have, which would you choose?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:23 AM
I only need one. the ability to interconvert myself between mass and energy.

you?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:28 AM
teleporation - healing of self (self being rapid cellular regeneration) and others - telekinesis on an unlimited level - the ability to communicate with anyone or anything (people of any culture, plants, animals, alien life forms, anything capable of communication) - power over nature

Describe your perfect first date.

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:31 AM
(All of those can be achieved by my simple, no-so-simple suggestion =) )

I'm not sure.
Some activity that connects us in an intimate way.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:33 AM
doing something fun out in the world: sky diving, bungee jumping, roller coasters, climbing a rock wall, etc. followed by dinner in at his place while watching movies, very casual and relaxed, no pressure, no expectations, just having fun

What is your worst dating experience?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:35 AM
I don't have any. They've all been good.

How do you value your soulmate relative to every other human being on Earth?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:41 AM
he is the most important as to me...but how could i elevate the life of one above the life of all others if it came down to a decision between saving only him, and saving everyone, assuming salvation/destruction were guaranteed either way

You?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:44 AM
But you already elevated his life above the lives of 2 individuals in the other thread!

She is everything to me. I would gladly sacrifice myself for her. But in truth, she would gladly sacrifice her life for me, and would gladly sacrifice her life for others, as I would. I'm not sure if I have it in me to let her do this, though. It would tear me apart.

How are you feeling relative to days past?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:47 AM
better in some ways, worse in others - life goes on and if it doesn't you die and won't know the difference anyway :p

Do your feet reach the end of the bed?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:48 AM
Yea.

Would you obey the command of your soulmate if you knew it meant his destruction?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:51 AM
LOL! command?! who the hell commands me?! - ok that would be a "NO"

Would your soulmate be allowed to dominate you without bruising your ego?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 02:53 AM
No. (as in no, she will not dominate me)

I'll rephrase...the wishes of your soulmate. The question remains, in effect, the same.

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:55 AM
his life is his to live as he sees fit - but i will protect him until my dying day

You?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:04 AM
Like I've said before. She has free will, but I am not strong enough to stand back and watch her die, no matter what she wishes.

Would you readily sacrifice your life for your soulmate?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:06 AM
Yes

If your soulmate were thrown from an airplane sans parachute, would you go after her even if you also lacked a parachute?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:07 AM
Hell yes.
We'd have an explosive time.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:08 AM
same...plus i'd get to test a theory, lol

What is the most vivid daydream you had today?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:11 AM
(which is exactly what I meant...)

Having sex with a friend of mine. She's got a great body. Really, really great body.

Your turn!

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:13 AM
I beat up a man in a club lol, mine are almost always violent

What are you most looking forward to?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:15 AM
Slaying my soulmate...if you know what I mean.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:17 AM
(lol)

moving forward, inertia drives me crazy

Pick a brain, any brain, whose brain would you love to pick for 24 hours? (anyone living or dead)

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:19 AM
Henry Kissinger

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:21 AM
Andrei Chikatilo

How do you react to bugs?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:22 AM
No reaction.

You? You have arachnophobia or something?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:26 AM
lol well a few bugs flew in my face once and i reacted, my two female friends who were with me laughed and said, "Wow, that's the first time you've ever sounded like a girl. You're human, after all." - I enjoy the killing of them, a lot, but I refuse to clean up the bodies. (arachnophobia is limited to spiders, i just hate bugs...my best victory was locking myself in my dorm room with a wasp - it was dead within seconds)

If you could ride any wild animal, which would you choose?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:27 AM

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:34 AM
Nope.

What do you think of PDA?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:36 AM
Keep it classy. Hold her hand, kiss her, hug her. But keep it classy.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:37 AM
it's weird - it pretty much creeps me out

What is your favorite song to sing?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:39 AM
So, eh. Fuck! Vanessa Carlton songs, and Tool/APC songs. Fuck you.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:41 AM
LOL

broadway songs are the best fit for my voice, but also pat benatar songs, Garbage, and art songs (hahaha seriously need to stop laughing, i can't think of a question)

Could you be happy teaching forever?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:42 AM
No. Absolutely not. My close friends/family know this.
It's not dynamic enough for what I need in my life.

Could you be happy in the JAG corps for the rest of your life?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:45 AM
no, it's only a 3 year commitment

Military lifestyle or civilian one?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:46 AM
Military in its mobility, civilian in my freedom.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:48 AM
i volley...i'd like the military training, but i don't think i could take the hierarchy for long...blind obedience is not something i'm really built for

How long is your typical phone conversation with a good friend?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:50 AM
5 minutes? Less. I hate the phone.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:52 AM
about 10 if it's someone i haven't seen in awhile...i don't like the phone either...well, there was one person i could talk to for hours, literally, but not anymore

Do you text a lot?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 03:57 AM
I text a fair bit. I much prefer to call and set something up.

What was your favorite thing to talk about with this gentleman?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:58 AM

Do you ever think you will go back to him? That he might change?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:01 AM
NO

What is the best part about letting people go?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:02 AM
Do you think you will not get back with him? Or that he will not change?
If he did change, would you pair with him? (Trying to break down your answer)

Free from potential restraints.

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:04 AM
even if he did change I wouldn't go back - he is in the past and I am in the future

What is the strength of your connection with your past?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:05 AM

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:12 AM
friends...

What is the hardest thing for you to admit?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:13 AM
That time is passing and I am growing older. That one day, I will run out of time.
I hate time, I really do. I wish I could wish it away forever.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:16 AM
that I need love...because I don't, damnit

To what do you most cling?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:17 AM
Nothing.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:20 AM
nothing, I've learned that lesson

Which natural disaster do you fear the most?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:21 AM
I really don't.
Any type of flooding is probably the most likely to create health crises.

12-31-2008, 04:25 AM
um I've stood outside in hurricanes...i'm not really worried about anything b/c shit happens and i'll deal with whatever does

What do you listen to while working out?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:26 AM
Whatever it is they decide to play.
On the *very rare* occasion I bring my ipod, I usually listen to Justice/Daft Punk, or hip hop. I've found that rock music has terrible time signatures that do not at all facilitate working out.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:28 AM
music with a good beat - dangerous (kardinal offishall), lolli lolli pop (three 6 mafia), low and in the ayer (flo rida), stronger (kanye), etc.

12-31-2008, 04:29 AM

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:37 AM

What kind of cell phone do you use, and what color is it?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:37 AM
A samsung slider.

What kind of bottled water do you drink?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:41 AM

You?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:42 AM
I think bottled war in 1st world countries is largely assinine.

But what's your opinion! ;)

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:44 AM
lol it tastes better than tap water - when i had my own place i just used a filter on the tap

Why is gatorade any different from a bottled water with electrolytes added?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:45 AM
Because the electrolytes are ADDED...no work required.
It also contains simple sugars that provide energy.

Justify paying $1.00 per bottle for something as ephemeral as the taste of water.

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:49 AM
because i like the taste i'm apt to drink a lot of it to the exclusion of even soda, a hard habit for me to kick - filtered water is just as good and what i use if i have a filter - my glass of water is from the fridge, not the bottle

At what position(s) on the steering wheel do you put your hand(s) when you drive?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:51 AM
Low. Say...5,7 or 4,8.

Usually I roll with one hand.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 04:55 AM
man, I usually just use my right hand at 4 or 5 - everyone i know tells me it's a weird position on the wheel - though if i'm on the cell phone (i pay more attention to the road than to my conversation) i hold it in my right hand and have my left at 8 or 9, pinky and/or ring finger on the signal arm

Your biggest pet peeve when it comes to people driving?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:56 AM
Too slow. I have a bit of a lead foot.

12-31-2008, 04:58 AM
people who either cannot or do not MERGE - bad mergers drive me nuts

Your favorite traffic sign to ignore?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 04:59 AM
Stop sign. I'm a profession at the California stop.

It's midnight. You are at a 4 way intersection, but the light is red. There are no cars for miles. Do you run the red light, or wait until it is green?

Hashim
12-31-2008, 05:38 AM
Wait.

Whats will all the traffic questions?

rahdam
12-31-2008, 05:44 AM
Don't even ask, because I don't know, and I wrote half of them.

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:22 PM

What is your relationship with your parents like?

Reganon

It's pretty good. We get along, but they don't like my secrecy. It's not that I keep secrets, it's just that I don't tell them what goes on in my life.

Do you think you would make a good parent?

PHS Philip
12-31-2008, 02:29 PM
It's pretty good. We get along, but they don't like my secrecy. It's not that I keep secrets, it's just that I don't tell them what goes on in my life.

Do you think you would make a good parent?

I'm not old enough to know.

Favorite movie genre?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:29 PM
Yes - and while I'm not sure I'll have children, everybody else thinks I should b/c I have a ton of experience with children and am naturally able to find that line between friendship and respect - they obey me and behave well for me, yet love to play with me and confide in me...plus I adore them

Action/Adventure

Do you want children?

Reganon
12-31-2008, 02:31 PM
movie genre- Action and comedy
I could rise to the occasion, but normally I'm too cold and get frustrated when I can't have an intellectual conversation.

Do you have any enemies?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:32 PM
it's possible, but if I do they remain in the shadows

Are you anybody's enemy?

Reganon
12-31-2008, 02:36 PM
I don't believe so. But there is an unspoken tension between me and my best friend's girlfriend. She's used to be jealous of our friendship, but now she has the upper hand, so I don't know what the status currently is. She and I are good friends, but I can't help but wonder if we're both thinking "I hate you" behind a courteous smile.

When was the last time you hurt someone else?

ClydeB
12-31-2008, 02:36 PM
Probably last night on a game thread.

You?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:38 PM
well, my dad's neighbor might count...we had a little skirmish of wills when I was in D.C....it was friendly on my part and quite enjoyable

You?

Reganon
12-31-2008, 02:39 PM
I'm sure I've been hurting my sister by avoiding her like the plague, but in my defense she is being insufferably annoying on purpose.

What was your most disturbing dream?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:40 PM
probably being hunted on a highway...or being shot in the chest in high school

What is your favorite dream?

Reganon
12-31-2008, 02:43 PM
I can't remember a specific one, but I love the ones where I get to fight off enemies.

Have you ever had a lucid dream?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 02:44 PM

Have you ever taken a road trip? If so, to where?

Reganon
12-31-2008, 02:57 PM

no...

Have you?

Reganon
12-31-2008, 03:06 PM
Yep- see vent thread for details

When someone startles you, do you ever scream? If not, what is your general reaction when startled?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:07 PM
for some reason I startle really easily, in terms of someone appearing "out of nowhere" - I jump and make a fist...it makes everyone else laugh

You?

Reganon
12-31-2008, 03:10 PM
Generally I say "whoa," but I never scream. I was conditioned at an early age not to get startled easily. (My sister liked to hide around corners and jump out at me)

How important is privacy to you?

Nikita
12-31-2008, 03:14 PM

Do you sleep with your door open or closed?
