(no, lol - but your motivation is definitely 8ish)

Do you think it's weird that I pegged your top 3?

rahdam
12-23-2008, 06:17 PM
Not especially.

Do you usually get people's enneagrams right? And will you now tell me what it all means?

Nikita
12-23-2008, 06:22 PM
I'm usually pretty good, but not perfect at it.

8 is the challenger, does not like to be controlled, sometimes seeks to control others - but this is done as a way of life. 8s can have trouble with aggression and anger, either finding a way to balance the fervor with magnanimity or using the aggression to commit violence against and control others. 8w7 brings more mental energy and quickness. It is known as The Maverick (granted, that term has a different overused meaning now given the election). 7 doesn't like to be fenced in, and is the adventure seeker, but also an avoider of pain and an escape artist of sorts. 3 tends to be image and achievement oriented. 3 can represent an ideal made human, but it can also be highly manipulative and deceptive.

theenneagram.blogspot.com has some good info

Do you see yourself at all in the type?

rahdam
12-23-2008, 06:26 PM
Yea. In fact, you could almost use that description to describe my Jiu-Jitsu game (all people, despite learning the same techinques, play the game in a unique way).

What is the significance of the wing? Is it a secondary function?

Nikita
12-23-2008, 06:29 PM
The wing basically colors your core type. Every type has two wings, as an 8, your wings are 7 and 9 (it can only be the numbers on either side of your own). Both wings are always there, but one is usually stronger. An 8 with a 9 wing would be more likened to a simmering volcano, whereas an 8 with a 7 wing is like an actively spewing volcano. The 9 adds a slower, more peaceful quality, the 7 a more mentally quick and agitated quality.

What is your motto?

rahdam
12-23-2008, 06:31 PM

Nikita
12-23-2008, 06:39 PM
because I want to be able to handle anything life throws at me, defend myself, and defend others

You?

rahdam
12-23-2008, 06:40 PM

rahdam
12-23-2008, 06:43 PM

Do you think it is better to be smaller and faster with more cardio, or bigger and stronger with less cardio?

Nikita

for me, personally, smaller and faster with more cardio - i really don't want the bulk of extra muscle

You?

rahdam
12-23-2008, 06:47 PM
Both come in handy, I'm somewhere in between.
I'd rather find that I am weaker; gassing out is miserable.
It's easier to win while weaker than while gassed.

12-25-2008, 09:09 PM
nope, I love it

presents: yep

Why do you love or hate this time of year?

Zzyber
12-25-2008, 09:10 PM
Too much interpersonal expectations. (and my vote is hate)

And you?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 09:12 PM
i don't have one reason, i just love it - from the scents on the breeze to the energy in the air, the traveling and thinking of something meaningful to do for someone...i just like it

What is the best Christmas present you got?

Reganon
12-25-2008, 09:12 PM

Best gift given?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 09:21 PM
working on it now...a drawing of my late paternal grandparents for my dad

Yours?

Reganon
12-25-2008, 09:29 PM
None really stand out, but a long time ago I gave my mom some clay sculpture I had made and wrapped it in over 50 layers of wrapping paper. It was definitely the funniest gift I've ever given- oh- just remembered- I gave my friend with an eating disorder Twilight as an inside joke. I kept telling her not to read it, but then I thought she needed some light, stupid reading while they shipped her off to Oklahoma to be cured.

Who is your favorite historical figure?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 09:31 PM
hmm...Patton, Countess Bathory, the Borgias, Da Vinci, Attila the Hun, and Genghis Khan stand out at the moment

Yours?

Reganon
12-25-2008, 09:34 PM
I couldn't say. Maybe Caesar?

Nikita

i don't ever plan to own it, but Koenigsegg CCX

Describe your dream home.

Reganon
12-25-2008, 09:43 PM
it has a secret underground laboratory

You?

Franklin71
12-25-2008, 09:45 PM
On a hill, overlooking an evergreen forest. Large, window-enclosed patio with a view, so I can write overlooking nature without being in the elements. A large library for all of my books. A home theater with actual theater seating. The bathroom has one of those circular showers in the center of the room. The largest jacuzzi mankind has ever seen. Oh, and my own dungeon.

You?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 09:52 PM
i really don't want to have a home. i want to have a hammock or some sort of ultra-portable tent and just wander the globe exploring it - realistically that's kind of ridiculous, but it's a dream

What are 3 things you want to do before you die?

Franklin71
12-25-2008, 09:54 PM
Write a novel that gets published, see Europe, have revenge on my enemies.

You?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 10:00 PM
sky dive, swim in every ocean, and achieve something artistic (be it in writing, music, photography, or design)

List two talents you possess.

Franklin71

I do impressions and do write rather well.

Name two talents you'd like to have?

Reganon

I can play the violin, I'm an excellent climber (rock walls, trees, you name it)

You?

Edit: those are the talents I have

I wish I could dance and .... drawing a blank

Nikita
12-25-2008, 10:04 PM
would like to have: speaking multiple languages and gymnastics proficiency (used to study it, gave it up to try something else)

do have: i sing and draw decently

What are your thoughts on death and afterlife?

Franklin71
12-25-2008, 10:05 PM
Afterlife: there isn't one.

If there were an afterlife, and it were bad or boring, would you still prefer it to nonexistence?

Reganon
12-25-2008, 10:05 PM
After death is nothing.

What do you believe is the worst thing a person can do?

Edit: (I can't keep my hands off this edit button)
I would prefer nothing to any kind of after life, eventually, all I will want is peace

Nikita
12-25-2008, 10:07 PM
I won't know what I'd prefer until I experienced one or the other...as it is I think we rot until we die and that's it

worst thing: justify hurting others on a basis of religion

What are your religious beliefs?

Reganon
12-25-2008, 10:08 PM
they are chocolate based- I don't have any

Yours?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 10:13 PM
i take and use bits and pieces of various religions as they suit me, but i don't believe in gods

What is your sign?

Reganon
12-25-2008, 10:14 PM
Taurus/monkey

Do you believe astrology is accurate?

Franklin71
12-25-2008, 10:15 PM
Scorpio.

Has anyone ever used "what is your sign?" as a pick-up line on you?

rara avis
12-25-2008, 10:17 PM
No, I don't think so. I don't always notice pick-ups, though. Friends will point them out after the fact (and subsequent pick-up failure).

Do you use lines?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 10:18 PM
accurate - I think it's good as an additional layer of personality information, but I don't think it's predictively accurate

sign line - nope, I was asked flat out to go to a hotel once and that did NOT work

i don't use pick up lines

What is your favorite pick up line, and is it effective?

Franklin71
12-25-2008, 10:19 PM
No.

Can you think of a pick-up line that would actually work on you?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 10:21 PM
Nope. With me, trust and respect have to be earned. Pick up lines automatically discount both.

What is your highest educational degree?

rara avis
12-25-2008, 10:23 PM

Are you impressed by educational levels?

Franklin71
12-25-2008, 10:24 PM
B.A.s in political science and economics, but I took several grad-level econ classes.

Would you ever consider going back for a higher degree?

rara avis
12-25-2008, 10:28 PM
Working on it - not sure if I care for a degree, per se, or just to study what I want to learn.

If you could study any subject, free of time and financial constraints, just for fun - what subject would you choose?

Franklin71
12-25-2008, 10:31 PM
Paleontology. I want to dig up fossils.

You?

Nikita
12-25-2008, 10:32 PM
Are you impressed by educational levels?

I care more about how a person uses his/her mind every day than to how many years of school he/she has devoted it.

If you could study any subject, free of time and financial constraints, just for fun - what subject would you choose?

foreign languages...many foreign languages

You?

Reganon

12-25-2008, 10:44 PM
the egg

What's your favorite animal?

Zzyber
12-25-2008, 11:56 PM
Feline.

What is your favorite cartoon character?

Franklin71
12-26-2008, 12:00 AM
Daffy Duck. (But only the early Daffy, before Chuck Jones turned him from daffy into an asshole.)

Disney cartoons or Warner Bros.?

rara avis
12-26-2008, 12:43 AM
WB.

You don't like Chuck Jones???

Franklin71
12-26-2008, 12:49 AM
There are two kinds of vintage WB fans, Jones fans and Bob Clampett fans. I'm the latter. Jones' earliest work is too saccharine and cutesy. He finally comes into his own after Clampett and Tex Avery leave WB, but by the '50s he's all cutesy again, plus by then he's started Daffy on the path to being downright unpleasant. (Friz Freleng would make it even worse with his atrocious Daffy/Speedy cartoons.)

Daffy or Bugs Bunny?

vibrantblade16
12-26-2008, 06:58 AM
Daffy Duck

Who was your last crush?

rahdam

Have you ever had sex with someone who you never got the name of?

Nope. (unfortunately, depending on how you look at it.)

If you could live in a house from any TV show, which would you choose?

Franklin71
12-26-2008, 03:56 PM
The windmill from the BBC series "Jonathan Creek."

If you could have any famous TV or movie car, what would it be?

rara avis
12-26-2008, 04:06 PM
68 mustang gt from bullitt? just - not that color. Or.... Penelope Pitstop's car... hm, I could go either way.
Or the Aston Martin from Goldfinger.
Clearly I need to put more thought into this.

What's for dinner today??

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 04:46 PM
I had some bean soup.

What did you have?

Wapiti
12-26-2008, 05:41 PM
Leftover rib roast, chow mein and some cheetos.

If you were president of anywhere with a nuclear weapon, could you give the orders to use it?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 05:44 PM
Well first off you would have to show me where anywhere is so I could see how fortified we could make our defenses after we declared war on the world.

If you could go back in time would you assassinate any particular person and why?

rahdam
12-26-2008, 05:45 PM
Yes. Circumstances are everything.

Could you?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 05:47 PM
Clarification. Name the individual and give reasons as to why.

rahdam
12-26-2008, 05:48 PM
Adolf Hitler is an obvious choice.

you?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 05:50 PM
Would have to say Mao Tse-tung. Thats just too many people. Who knows what might have come out of the people that he had killed.

rahdam
12-26-2008, 05:52 PM
Assume you are in a public place. You see two guys fighting. One is winning, and one is, obviously, losing. If you jump in, on whose side do you jump in on?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 05:55 PM
I wouldn't jump in. Two dudes fighting in inconsequential to me. Now if it was some dude beating up a female then its a different answer.

If you saw two astrophysicists fighting in the street would you jump in and if you did whose side would you be on.

rahdam
12-26-2008, 05:56 PM
As stated, your astrophysicists are entirely symmetrical.
I suppose I would flip a coin in that scenario.

Can you be more specific as to the situation, and why you chose astrophysicists?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 05:59 PM
One was arguing the belief that there are multiple universes and the other is arguing over the belief that there is no such thing.

Because I just watched a video (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)today about the belief of just this such theory and it is still on my mind.
The guy is a theoretical physicist but it's relative enough.

rahdam
12-26-2008, 06:14 PM
Jumping in in a fight has everything to do with how the two physicists are performing in the fight. They are different, perpindicular dimensions. As such, they are physically assumed equal, and there is no need to jump in per say, only to break it up symmetrically.

Do you subscribe to the multiverse theory or the universe theory?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 06:21 PM
I believe in the multiverse theory. There is a lot (in my opinion) that seems to point to the fact that this is a possibility. A lot of the things that were said in the video were a bit..off..but out and out it sounds very plausible. I do like the dark matter theory as being used in conjunction to explain the possible existence of these other universes. It would also explain a lot of other things that seem to plague our society with misconceptions of paranormal or misguided religious beliefs (I am a Methodist) that are unexplainable as well.

I believe I got a bit off topic for a game thread so I will end it there or I will type forever.

Do you believe in ghosts?

rahdam
12-26-2008, 06:28 PM
No.

Describe your first love.

Reganon
12-26-2008, 06:33 PM

Has a romantic interest ever come between you and a good friend?

Nikita
12-26-2008, 06:54 PM
i'd have to get my phone and i don't want to - probably my ESTP friend

b/t me and a friend - yes...but he wasn't my interest per se...i was his

Who did you last IM?

rahdam
12-26-2008, 06:55 PM
I never IM. It would have been years ago.

No, nothing comes between me and my friends.
The girl may be my friend. But then it is friend against friend.

Has a girl every come between YOU and a friend?

Nikita
12-26-2008, 06:57 PM
yes

No. We broke it off. But we did click.

Would you look down on your SO if he got beat up?

Nikita
12-26-2008, 07:06 PM
no

Would you?

rahdam
12-26-2008, 07:08 PM
Only if she did not try her best. If she gave it her all, there is NO SHAME in losing.

Would you jump in to save your SO if they did not want you to?

Nikita
12-26-2008, 07:09 PM
if it reached the point of no return, yes

You?

rahdam
12-26-2008, 07:11 PM
I feel the same. I am all for letting her fight her own battles if she wants to, but if things begin to look permanent, I will impose myself to save her. She may hate me, but I can live with that outcome.

Would you rather be a potato or a potatoe? (aka I'm out of here for real)

Nikita
12-26-2008, 07:12 PM
I'd rather be literate

How many times per day do you say something obligatory? ("how are you," "i love you," etc.)

What would your last request be?

rara avis

What was the last movie you went to the theater for?

Franklin71

Vicky Christina Barcelona.

What upcoming movie do you most want to see?

The Wrestler (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.).

Have you ever walked out of a movie?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 09:21 PM
I almost did once but I figured it wasn't worth it.

Have you?

Franklin71
12-26-2008, 09:23 PM
No. Bad movies give me comedy material.

Which could you more easily do without: TV or Internet?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 09:24 PM
Easily TV. I never really watch it anyways. If I'm not on the net I'm reading so...

What is your favorite book ever?

auriga vega
12-26-2008, 09:24 PM
Into The Wild?
I haven't thought about that.

What movie(s) have you cried on?

ditto.

rara avis

Will you kiss the last person you kissed, again?

Zzyber
12-26-2008, 10:02 PM

Who was the last person to cook for you?

Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?

rahdam
12-27-2008, 02:48 AM
A friend who lives around here.
I had to traverse an enormous hill sheeted in ice to make it to his place.
Thankfully, the extraverted sensing runs strong in this one.

Why did you fail to answer my previous question?

rara avis
12-27-2008, 02:51 AM
Well, I changed my mind, now, I don't want to kiss anyone. Your pressuring has caused me to reconsider the cootie factor.

Do you consider yourself a sensual person?

rahdam
12-27-2008, 02:55 AM
Yes. I need to express myself physically.

You?
